首先我要概述下我们所处的困境。我们正处于让人费解的十字路口。Bitcoin ABC刚刚在客户端中合并了一些只有他们执行的更改：实施令人恐慌的“ IFP Coinbase规则”，改变了共识规则，额外规定使用其客户端挖出的区块必须向以下地址支付8％的挖矿奖励：bitcoincash：pqnqv9lt7e5vjyp0w88zf2af0l92l8rxdgnlxwww99。 如有区块未在挖矿交易中支付这笔费用，将被Bitcoin ABC拒绝并视为“无效”。 所有其他节点均未实施此规则。 名单如下：

既然如此，为什么ABC想迫切地拿到coinbase奖励呢？

今年2月份，在IFP的初始方案提出来时Amaury在BCH GANG电报群里的发言能让我们更好的了解他的想法：
Amaury Sechet：我要是不在乎（任何人的态度），那么最好的办法就是把规则写进代码，让我得到50％，甚至75%的区块奖励。这比我单纯地退出更有利可图。
Jc Crown：这相当于在对网络发起攻击。正常情况下，我认为这不会成功，但这个社区很奇怪，或许会有人为你找借口正名。
Marco #977：我认为到了60%就可能失败。

Amaury Sechet：兄弟，你自己计算下。假设BCH在激活IFP的过程中币价跌了90%，那又怎样？我还是能获得目前5%-7.5%的区块奖励。这显然才是最赚钱的操作。一天大概有2万美金的收入呢。居然从来没有人算过这笔账，真荒谬。

因此，恳请Amaury退出，别再因为你的诸多行为给大家带来痛苦和损失了。
但是你会吗？不，因为你太自私，太自恋了。你宁愿破坏BCH，破坏大家共同创造的价值。你才不在乎BCH承载了多少人的热爱。不在乎大家多年来努力创造的价值。这些都不如你的感受重要。从始至终你都是第一位的，不是吗？你缺乏同理心，你意识不到他人投入了巨大的热情。你在乎过吗？不，你没有。
在你看来，你就是BCH。
最后总结一下，为什么你Amaury应该退出？
答案很简单：因为BCH不只是Amaury，它意味着更多。市场已经给出了答案。为什么没有人愿意给你投入大笔资金了？那是因为你不称职。
你无权为了一己私利去破坏BCH。如果你缺钱就不要继续营业了。绅士一点，让市场自行解决。

On Why Amaury Should Resign

Greetings from the land of the uncertain future of BCH! How the hell did we get here? Do you remember when there was a time when "the dream" was to flip BTC? Why are we now fighting amongst ourselves with accusations such as "Commie!! Bitshevik!!" and "You tax-loving chain-wreckers!!" and other nonsense? What the hell is going on? Can't we do better than this? I think we can!
But first -- a brief summary of our predicament: Right now we find ourselves at a very strange crossroads. Bitcoin ABC has just merged in changes to their client that only they have implemented. They are enforcing the much-dreaded "IFP Coinbase Rule" which restricts the consensus rules on their client by introducing an extra rule -- mined blocks must pay 8% of the mining reward to this address: `bitcoincash:pqnqv9lt7e5vjyp0w88zf2af0l92l8rxdgnlxww9j9`. If any blocks appear on the network not paying out to that address in the mining transaction, they will be rejected by Bitcoin ABC as "invalid". All of the other nodes do not implement this rule. Sooo that's the situation we are in. All I am left to wonder is... *"What the FUCK, BCH?!"*
Why the hell are we in this situation in the first place? Isn't it a bit ridiculous? Like seriously -- if you were around on fork day Aug. 1, 2017, and I told you that this would be happening now in 2020 you would have laughed (or cried.. or both). This situation is ***not the dream of Bitcoin Cash***.
But really -- why are we here? What is going on? Is there a problem funding infrastructure? Is it because BCH sucks and we can't pay devs? No! As recent flipstarters have shown (https://flipstarter.electroncash.org/) the community loves to pay its dev project. *There is no problem funding infrastructure.*
Let me reiterate that: ***There is no problem funding infrastructure.***
Ok, so there's no problem funding infrastructure. Why does ABC feel the need to dip into the coinbase reward, then?
In short -- the answer is -- *EXTREMELY EASY TO GRASP* --

ABC has serious cash flow issues because they cost an arm and a leg to operate. On top of that -- Amaury sees himself as the Jesus of BCH who deserves better. So, for egotistical reasons, basically, he is willing to throw out the baby with the bathwater. For the longest time the miners funded him, and Roger Ver funded him, and other community leaders funded him. He managed to rub everybody the wrong way and nobody wants to fund him anymore, because he never delivered on features his benefactors asked for. Roger wanted to increase the tx-chain limit. He dragged his feet on that for 2 years -- and that *eventually* happened slowly and *way too late*. The Chinese miners stopped funding him because the coin kept losing value and they stopped wanting to pay out money for an ever-decreasing coin that is now a 2% coin. Eventually, the Chinese miners told him to figure out his funding situation himself and stop asking them for money. So he has no choice. *He must do the IFP or close up shop*, basically. This is his last "hail Mary".
Is this morally justified? ***No it is not.*** BCH is more than just ABC. If ABC cannot pay its bills -- it should **not** have the audacity to wreck all the value we have all worked so hard to create. But -- Amaury being Amaury -- he doesn't give a flying fuck. We can all go to hell, as far as he's concerned. Either he gets his IFP coinbase reward or he will wreck the coin in trying, or both. ***If BCH is $40/coin ABC still has revenue = $1 million a year.***
To give even more insight in to how Amaury thinks, here are some quotes that he posted in the BCH gang telegram group in February when the original IFP proposal was made:
Well, if I start to not give a shit about an of this, then the best move is to code it so that I get 50% of the block reward, or maybe even 75%. It'd be way more profitable than simply leaving.
and
If I send 50% of the coinbase to ABC, even assuming a 90% value collapses, that'd still increase ABC's income by at least an order of magnitude.
So what **should** Amaury do then? Simple: **he should just resign**, and ABC should either disband or switch to a volunteer-only model. If ABC cannot get funded and is very expensive to operate -- let the market sort it out. There are competitors out there that **don't** cost an arm-and-a-leg to operate (such as Bitcoin Cash Node). Any or all of them "got this". We don't **need** ABC for success. If anything ABC is a liability at this point. They are expensive to operate and they are led by narcissistic madman.
So please -- Amaury -- ***just resign already*** and save us all the pain and value-loss your actions are creating.
But will you? No -- you're too much of a selfish narcissist to do that. You prefer to wreck this coin and wreck the value we all have created. You don't care that BCH is passion project for many other people. You don't care that we all worked hard to create value here. None of that matters to you -- It's all about **YOU**, isn't it? You *lack empathy* and you don't realize that other people's passions are at stake here. You don't care.. do you? Nope... you do not.
In your mind: You **ARE** the BCH.
So, in summary -- why should you resign, Amaury?
The answer is simple: Because BCH is more than just YOU, Amaury.. ***and the market has spoken***. Nobody wants to give you the vast sums of money you require for a reason. The reason is, you kind of are inept.
You have no right to wreck this coin for your own selfish benefit. The gentlemanly thing to do, if you cannot pay the bills, is to close up shop and let the market figure it out.
But you won't do that. You prefer to try and wreck the coin first. I hope you don't succeed. My advice to you, Amaury, is:

An open letter to ABC (really, Amaury):
Tell me how is it sound money or hard money to randomly f--- with the block times? How are 11 minute 15 second conf. times for 5.5 years, randomly, at your whim "sound money"? Is this sound? Can you claim this with a straight face?
And how is it hard money and/or sound money to not even have the courage to communicate this fact clearly in your little communiques to China?

Calinstradamus Preditcion #12341: IFP 2.0 coming in Nov., no voting, just mandatory.
There's a lot of buzz on social media lately about a narrative that BCHN wants to split from BCH. Some prominent figures in BCH that are good friends with Amaury Sechet have been "rumoring" publicly that BCHN wants to split BCH.
Let me go on the record and be **very** clear here: *Nobody..* And I mean ***nobody*** in BCHN or any of the other people involved in BCH wants a split! Nobody is talking about a split, nobody is thinking about a split -- hell, when we go out for ice cream, we don't even order banana splits! **Let me be clear:** We want to maintain unity and maintain a strong BCH. "*BCHN wants to split" is a fictional narrative*. It's completely made up. Kind of like Santa Clause.
But even Santa Clause serves a purpose, right? We tell children stories of 'Ol St. Nick in order to stimulate their imagination, elicit a response, and get them excited about the magic of Christmas. We also do it, maybe, to get them to behave a little bit (with varying degrees of actual success). That's why we keep the Santa Clause legend around.
Ok, that's Santa. That's a fictional narrative that is easily explained. However, one must wonder -- why in the world would ABC and those friendly with Amaury Sechet be pushing this ficitonal narrative that BCHN wants to split BCH? What purpose could it possibly serve? Discredit BCHN? Stir the pot? Mud sling? Perhaps. But Sechet is not one to mince words without purpose -- especially on twitter.
His purpose is to form a narrative now, which will "come true" later, and get to say "I told you these guys were trouble". It's called *getting ahead of the story*.
Well, let me *get ahead of the story here* too and tell you my prediction. I, *Calinstradamus* *Culianamus*, predict the following: ABC will do something incredibly wreckless to almost guarantee a split of BCH come Nov. 15th 2020. And the most likely thing they could possibly do is push a consensus change that pays them directly from coinbase, as they attempted to do last time, but this time it will have no BIP9 voting/activation -- it will just automatically activate Nov. 15th.
ABC is banking on the ecosystem not really being aware of the issues and not caring. In his mind, exchanges just install the latest ABC. Miners pretty much do the same. He can just do this -- and then blame BCHN for being "bad actors" that want to "split BCH".
*You heard it here first, folks.*
Regarding the IFP....
I've read a number of blog posts from various devs in the space regarding the IFP proposal to give ABC and loyal projects 5% of the coinbase reward. So I figure I should chime in here...
Lots of discussion around the technicalities of it. But we need to bring something to the forefront, in my mind, that hasn't been adequately considered.
**ABC is inefficient**. Amaury is a poor team leader and he demoralizes his underlings constantly (and that's what they are, really). You can ask any number of former devs about the "mood" there.
PR's go unreviewed for days or weeks sometimes -- feedback is often missing, incomplete, or downright mean.
He's a terrible leader and project manager.
He believes the key to open source projects is having a staff of 5 loyal devs that do his bidding, and for that he is willing to pay them a full-time salary.
That's one model, but it's not the way Open Source traditionally has worked. Take a lesson from the history books. One of the most successful open source projects in history, the Linux kernel, has had 10,000 contributors over the span of 30 years. In the beginning especially they were all volunteers. Linus Torvalds managed to squeeze **free work** out of the **world**. That's quite an accomplishment.
Wait -- but I heard Linus was also an asshole? Yes. Sometimes. Being an asshole where appropriate is required. It's like cooking with salt or pepper -- too much spoils the dish. But the difference between Linus and Amaury is Linus knew how to argue his case -- he was an effective communicator and he enjoyed debate. Amaury sees any debate or even any *request for clarification* as a potential "threat" and he begins to insult people and shut down all discussion.
Amaury Sechet is psychologically incapable of explaining himself to people. He speaks in axioms that he repeats like a mantra. When asked to clarify what he means there is always a high probability he will just begin to insult you. This is not how you run anything.
So... What you need: You need 1 or 2 or 3 devs.. MAYBE, to "vet" PRs. You can then try and create a bit of community around your project and *GET PEOPLE CONTRIBUTING FOR FREE*.
I have done this to a limited extent with Electron Cash.
The key is to develop a positive culture -- but to not be TOO permissive. At the end of the day you want 1 or 2 experts vetting everything, guiding new submissions, and generally setting the tone and direction.
Amaury is very inefficient, if downright incompetent with all of this.
His solution is to pay a staff of 5 or whatever full-time so he can abuse them.
This is not how Open Source works ideally.
So where does that leave the IFP? If implemented market forces will be taken out of the equation 100%. Hard-coded in the protocol, is ABC as king of BCH for life. This creates even *less* incentive towards efficiency. Instead, ABC will just grow fat and lazier and less efficient than they already are. And believe me, I've been in the software business 22 years now. ABC is inefficient *if you want to be nice*.
ABC, or at least Amaury Sechet should be fired, and they should be restructured towards greater efficiency.
I believe if the culture (and leadership) of ABC changes, the funding problem will solve itself.
ABC will become more efficient (read: cheaper to run)
Positive culture and positive vibes will lead to productive code and good relations with key community members
As a result of (1) and (2) above, it will be far easier to raise funds via donations or grants.
Yes.. GRANTS.
Put together a proposal and a plan and get it funded. People in the academic world do this all the time. And also this leads to some accountability.
But Amaury being Amaury -- he does not like to discuss or explain himself. It's offensive to his ego, and he sees any discussion as a potential threat.
So instead, he's asking the community to subsidize his shortcomings as a leader, without accountability (he hates that) so he may have enough money to pay generous salaries to subservient devs he can abuse.
And.. here we are.
