Today the SpaceX rocket, Falcon 9, launched 2 Nasa astronauts into space!

It’s the first time in 9 years that astronauts have been launched from American soil and SpaceX is the first private company ever to fly humans to orbit.

But today wasn’t just another launch. It was the first step of a radical new vision: Commercial space travel.

It's human nature to want to discover and explore new things, and today’s leap towards commercial space exploration was an expression of that on an epic scale.

I was quite suprised they made it. Russians designed a new rocket and they are using it for 20 years, but despite of this, they were afraid to use it for manned missions, and use their old design for manned missions instead. Even if they spent the last 20 years perfecting the new design, running simulations on them with supercomputers, fixing all the bugs. And russians have magnitudes more experience with every type of space missions than everyone else, they still squeek from the newest designs.

Yet, americans just toss two person into a pre-alpha design without any testing after a major redesign... not a good omen.
