Is Hydroxychloroquine the answer to COVID-19?

Last Saturday the FDA gave emergency authorization for hydroxychloroquine, allowing off-label use, and yesterday in a white house briefing Trump said they had stockpiled hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for COVID-19, and he told people “try it”.

But Hydroxychloroquine is a controversial treatment and its efficacy has not yet been proven. Furthermore there is a long list of seriously dangerous side effects associated with the drug, so using it as a treatment should not be taken lightly. That being said, shouldn’t people have the right to try?

I chatted to Petty Metzger, who used hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin prescribed by a doctor to treat himself when he got the Coronavirus. He describes exactly how he did it, how effective it was, what the studies show, and the risks involved.

Is this the cure we’ve been waiting for?
