Do Not Fear
“He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day.”
~Psalms 91:4-5
Fear is a one great enemy. It is an strong emotion that brings about the feeling of being afraid. Like worms that eat all of the green life of a tree when they are seasoned to attack, fear creeps into our system as soon as our body sense of unpleasant things or danger.
What is fear?
Fear is when you walk alone in a dark alley and you feel a sudden rush of adrenalin that made you run at the top your lungs
It is fear when a farmer loses his business
Fear is when your body hair stood up and feathers for an unseen host.
Fear causes the epinephrine hormones to gush in your body; adrenaline rush resulting to a heart rate and breathing rate increase, and vessels pump more blood to your muscles.
There are many discussions about fear. It has explanations in relation to its physical and psychological effect on us. But, I prefer not to dig deeper for I know one needs ample of time to fully grasp all of the information there is about this topic. And, my cognition is not conditioned to be loaded with lots of information just yet. So, please bear with my shortcomings.
Now, Here are the common problems that triggers my fear:
Fear of Failure
Fear of ill health or sickness
Fear of Public Speaking
Fear of Rejection
Fear of the Uncertainty
Fear of Loved Ones Dying
Fear of Snake (Ophidiophobia)
Fear does not only have negative impact on us but it encompasses positive as well as fear gives us warning of the possibility of bad things to happen. It prepares our body and mind to it. To react to it in a positive way. Hence, fear is not only a harmful emotion but it can be healthy as well.
Out of all, there is one fear that strengthens our faith. It is the Fear of God. It means we submit to the sovereignity of God. To His divinity and omnipotence. To His power and glory. The Lord will sustain and deliver us from the bondage of fear.
According to Isaiah 41:10 NIV
How do you overcome fear?
Acknowledge and face your fears - Embrace your fears. Do not run from it. It is just an illusion; a mere product of an imagination; things that are unreal. What you plant in your mind, grows in the soul and it will find a way to thrive.
Overcome your fear God's way: constantly pray. Believe that He will deliver you and strengthens your resolve. He will keep you safe under His wings. Let no toils and snares wave you into fears.
All of us are fair partakers of fear. No one is exempted. We go through it. The little children up to the adults. Even animals can feel it too. If you are to choose one, are you going to dwell in the shadow of fear forever? Or are you brave and courageous enough to step into the light and let the shadow befall behind you?
Whichever side should you suppose, remember that F.E.A.R can either be
"Forget Everything And Run" or
"Face Everything And Rise"
