As promised, here's the continuation of my writing about our getaway in Camotes Island. I hope you enjoy!

Here it is...

Day 2:

We woke up early in the morning and did our mantras. We wanted to maximize the time left and visited 8 out of 10 beautiful destinations. We brought with us the essentials and immediately went to start the tour in the beautiful island. It was a fun-filled, satisfying and exhausting day.

When we go to an escapade, we make sure that we have the list of the places we wanted to visit. Whether it is on a beach surrounded with white shore pebbles, a body of fresh water such as lake or waterfalls, walking through an area of high mountains, or explore the inside of a marvellous cave.

Here are the list of the beautiful destinations we've been to during our trip:

  • Lake Danano

  • Timubo Cave

  • Tulang Diot

  • Heaven Cave

  • Paraiso Cave

  • Amazing Island Cave and Resort

  • Santiago Bay Beach Resort

  • Mangodlong Rock Resort

Lake Danao

From our accomodation area, we traversed the path for thirty (30) minutes to our first destination. The beautiful Lake Danao

This place was very beautiful to the eyes and refreshing to the soul. When we finally get to see this beautiful view of natural scenery, we felt like being lost in a paradise.

There are many activities this place offer to visitors to experience the wonders of Lake Danao to its fullness. They have boat paddling, boat tour around the island beside the lake, snorkling, and the zip line.

As for us, we wanted to experience the adrenaline of riding in a cable with harness and safety helmet attached to our head. Hence, the zip line. It was a whole new experience for us. It was scary, but we enjoyed every bit of it.

After you try all the exciting activities and then you get famished, the next thing you wanted to do is to fill your tummy with fresh and delish meals, worry not, they got you covered.

Timubo Cave, Heaven Cave, Paraiso Cave and Amazing Island Cave

We visited four cave in one day and dived in its clean and fresh water. The caves are situated in different barangays. Thus, we travelled from one place to another. Inside each cave you'll see amazing rock formations and get mesmerised by it. There are also pools in each with different depths. The Timubo's and Heaven's are shallow while the Paraiso's and Amazing Island's are deep.

Here' a friendly reminder from yours truly:

Be extra careful going inside a cave. The passage is narrow and crooked, slippery and wet. You must be mindful of your steps.

And, if you also have phobia of narrow and dark places, you may not want to consider getting inside a cave.

The water is very refreshing and it relaxes your body. It is a good place for you to relax and do some stress debriefing.

Tulang Diot

Our next stop, Tulang Diot. An island across Tulang Dako. To get there, we rode on a boat for three (3) minutes.

As soon as we set foot on the fine white sand, we opted not to waste more of our time and dived into the clear and blue water. Like a child, we played with the waves and soaked in scorching heat of the sun and didn't mind getting burned at all. We just want to enjoy every moment of our stay there.

Mangodlong Rock Resort

" I left my heart in Mangodlong Rock "

It is the famous phrase (Landmark) in Mangodlong Rock Resort where the visitors took pictures of every time they visit the resort. It was attached to a massive rock where some of the cottage are situated as well.

During our visit there, the place was filled with many wanderers like us as well. People who wanted nothing but to enjoy the scenic view and escape from hustle bustle of their every day lives.

True to it's famous line, we left our hearts in Mangodlong Rock because we were enchated by its conduciveness for relaxation. It is a must to visit in the island.

Santiago Bay Beach Resort

This is one of the our favorite place during our getaway. Aside from the location (it is near to the place we stayed at) the place is truly a paradise. It is the the best we've been to by far.

The sand is fine and white. We even walk barefooted and felt the warm sand. The water is clear as crystal, and the sea breeze is refreshing too. Just near the shore, there are stalls and diners for you to choose scrumptious dishes when ever you feel famished. They offer lots of choices for you. From fresh seafoods and seaweeds to vegetables and meat. You can order any of your liking.

For me, I appreciate this place most each time the night falls. The sweet accoustics, the place became livelier at dusk, the good vibe, the sea breeze, and of course, I must never forget to mention the delish meals.

What I Have Learned from My Short Vacation In the Island

Every adventure is a discovery not only of wondrous nature, splendid creations, kind people and sumptuous meals but of new life learning experiences too.

First, I am grateful to God for the previlige to travel, for the monetary provision, courage and strenght to embark an adventure to a an unfamiliar place, for the guidance and protection, and for His never ending grace and favor.

Here's what I have learned from my short vacation on the island.

  • We are highly favored by God for He has crafted the nature for us to experience

  • The wonderful nature signifies God's amazing love

  • Be grateful of every opportunity to enjoy life.

  • There is so much life outside your comfort zone. So, explore!

Day 3:

It was still dawn when we fixed up our things because it was the time for us to leave the majestic island. We bid goodbye to the amazing place that wholeheartedly shared to us its best. The experience will be one for the book. Thank you, Camotes Island for the amazing journey. Till next time!
