The beauty of vice... Do you agree that it is okay to say that vice is beautiful? Anyone who has ever had some vice will know what I am writing about. Vice is a disease, I would call it like that. You know it's a disease and you take it, a disease you can't live without. First I would list some vices one by one. I will do that from the hardest to the easiest.
Number 1. Drugs
Number 2. Alcohol
Number 3. Gambling
Number 4. Smoking
Let's start. Iโm sure you will agree that I chose a difficult topic for the article. But I am also sure that someone will certainly find himself in this article. We need to talk about vices. It is the first step towards healing. Also the hardest step. Admitting to yourself that you are addicted to some vice and that you need help is a 50 percent of the healing. Then later on, the desire grows bigger and bigger to beat something you love to do and at the same time the most serious illness. The hardest fight begins.
My vice was number 4, smoking cigarettes.
July 15, 2008 was the beginning of the end. I started smoking cigarettes at a very young age, at the age of thirteen. Unfortunately, I was a child. Already at the age of fourteen I became addicted to cigarettes. Before my new birthday, I mean July 15, I smoked 3 packs of cigarettes in one day. What is it if it is not a disease!?
I read a lot of professional books before I decided to leave my vice. Research says the following:
- After 24 hours, the blood is cleansed of nicotine
- After 7 days the headache stops
- The ninth day is the most dangerous, then the biggest crisis starts
- After a month, you start to feel the real smell and taste of food and drinks
- After 3 months you can say for the first time that you have succeeded
- After a year, you can start giving advices to others on how to quit smoking
- After many years, if you smoked for 10 years, only after 20 years your lungs are clean and you can say that you have never smoked cigarettes.
The hardest period is the first 3 months and I will tell you how was my experience and how I struggled, maybe my recipe will help you. Itโs best to have a completely planned day that day when you throw away a pack of cigarettes. It is best to give yourself a lot of tasks. Don't have time to think about cigarettes. Spicy or sour candy or any other candy with intense taste is the solution every time you smoke. It is the most difficult after breakfast, lunch or dinner. Why? The pores on the tongue are cleansed with food and require a certain dose of nicotine, so the sweetest cigarette is after lunch. Immediately put the candy in your mouth and start to work something. The third dangerous thing is going out with friends. Either avoid going out or go out but donโt drink alcohol. I recommend water and some candy whenever your hand goes to take a cigarette. The fourth and most dangerous thing is coffee, or cigarettes with coffee. A ritual that is the most beautiful part of this vice. All those who read this article and are smokers will understand. The solution is tea, green or black, it has a lot of caffeine in it and it is not coffee... ๐ And immediately some task. ๐

I've had a love-hate relationship with smoking, and the only thing that works for me is:
1.- being at home with my mom, because she doesn't like to see me smoke, and
2.- Work in the office, which I don't do anymmore.
I've never went higher than 1 pack, and I can spend days without it. But always go back, the most I have been without smoking has been 9 months.
