Possess a Growth Mindset

Nowadays it's easy to be burned out and to diagnose ourselves as depressed people. Sometimes, we get sad and we cry without any particular reason resulting in us concluding that we are depressed. The word is sensitive and in my opinion, it is wise to seek a doctor's help because only doctors can diagnose or say if we are depressed. However, I'm not invalidating other people's feelings, I'm just barely sharing my thoughts. I, for one experience extremes of feelings. Sometimes I'm deeply overwhelmed, sometimes I can't figure out why I'm feeling a bit under the weather.
Life in general is a roller coaster ride. The same goes for our emotions. However, there are some self-help tips that we can run just to build a habit and establish a routine for us to go on with life courageously.
While scrolling through my Facebook feed, I come across a post from Tutor Doctor which comes with the tagline "How Learning Hits Home. The post continues with words and phrases that we usually utter paired with words and phrases too that we should say as an alternative.
Instead of saying: This is hard.
Say: Practice will make me better at this.
Many times we are overwhelmed by the enormity of the tasks. We easily give up because we are held hostage by our fears. What I learned most in life is that things are only complex and difficult at first, you'll get better in time. Over time, one would easily get the hang of it. With constant practice and the right amount of dedication, a skill would easily be developed.
Instead of saying: I'm not smart.
Say: I'm really smart when it comes to ____.
Highlight your strength. Count your blessings, not on the things that you are lacking. We all are smart in our ways. Some may have a high intelligence quotient. Some have a good emotional intelligence quotient. Some may be genius in numbers or in arranging words. Some are also good at sports perhaps music. We excel individually. We bloom uniquely. There's no point in looking down on oneself just because one has failed to meet a single standard. There is no standard. It's imaginary. People only create it.
Instead of saying: I'm making too many mistakes.
Say: Mistakes are how I learn and get better.
No one made it to the top without committing mistakes. It's part and parcel of growth. Without it, life would be boring and people would boast and become all-knowing. Every mistake is an upgrade. Every mistake is an opportunity to update existing learnings. We have to be more open about it and we must embrace it. As long as we learn from it, then we are good.
Every day, work expects a lot from us. Life expects us to take extra leaps. It's valid to be burned out but we must not stay in that state for so long a time. It's helpful that we romanticize life cause life won't go easy just because we are crying or complaining.
Thanks for reading friends! I hope it helps you the way it helped me.
Until the next read!
