My Work, My Vision
August 4, 2022
Good day friends! How's life going at your end? Everything is messy in the workplace now and it's surprisingly quiet as everyone is busy with their own business. We are beating deadlines and meeting expectations. Yes! Good thing that there were times when the power is out, at least we can glance up from our monitor and exchange conversations with our team members. It's nice to talk when you look at the face of the one you're talking to. We usually answer and respond with our eyes still glued to what we do.
Oh, life is so challenging. It seems like we're programmed to work, pay bills, save, and then repeat. What are your fallback friends? When everything falls apart. Who's got you?
My eyes hurt even when it is not yet lunchtime. My phone has been my very best friend that I used and holds it almost every hour in the daytime. I would also stare at the PC and hold the mouse at work but occasionally I would check my phone and use it if necessary. At night, I would use it until eleven in the evening. That's the maximum. And so, my eyes now felt like it lost their liquid. It's dry. And the skin surrounding it is saggy and brownish. It seems like I'm always tired even when it is just 7:30 in the morning.
My vision is affected too. I can't see people's faces when it's afar. I remember back then I would boast at home about how my eyes are great. I would always make my sister jealous of my vision as she got glasses already when she was a freshman in high school. But now? I'm like her. That's saddening.
I figured I should lessen my screen time but that's how the world works now. Always with technology. The remedy I just do is to sleep as early as I can and to lessen the frequency of me, checking my phone.
My work seatmate asked me how could we earn money without going to work. Lol. She suggested we should get a crazy rich boyfriend. lol. We hardly don't have time to look for a boyfriend. How much more looking for a rich one? Do you know someone?
Let's stretch our bones and work our asses off friends. Continually. Small steps every day. Let's build a habit and establish a routine. For our future and the next generation's better lives. After all, we're not meant to line just for ourselves anyway. We are accountable for each other. And we can't complain as always because others are fighting even without armour. So, get up and move. Deal with the issues today and be the best version of yourself. Tomorrow has its worries. But tomorrow isn't promised.
Thanks for your time.
Until the next read!
