কিছুদিন আগে একটা ভিডিও শেয়ার করেছিলাম পার্বত্য চট্টগ্রামের বৈসাবি উৎসব তথা তারা তাদের বছরে প্রথম দিনটি কিভাবে পালন করে সেই সম্পর্কে। অনেকেই হয়তো সেটি দেখেন নি। তাদের জন্যই সেই ভিডিও থেকেই কিছু তুলে ধরছি আদিবাসীদের উৎসব নিয়ে।
A few days ago, I shared a video about the Baisabi festival of Chittagong aborigines community in Bangladesh, Many may not have seen it. For them, I am highlighting some information about the tribal festival from that video.
পার্বত্য চট্টগ্রামের প্রধান তিন আদিবাসী সম্প্রদায় বছেরর শেষ দিনকে বিদায় জানাতে এবং নতুন বছরকে স্বাগত জানাতে যে অনুষ্ঠান করে থাকে তাকে বলে বৈসাবি উৎসব। ত্রিপুরাদের বৈসুব বা বৈসু, মারমাদের সাংগ্রাই, চাকমাদের বিজু এই তিন শব্দের মিলিত রুপ হলো বৈসাবি।
The Baisabi festival is a famous festival held by the three main indigenous communities of the Chittagong aborigines to bid farewell to the last day of the year and welcome the new year. Baisabi or Baisu of Tripura, Sangrai of Marmas, Biju of Chakmas is a combination of these three words which is called Baisabi.
বৈসাবি উৎসবটি তিন দিন ধরে পালন করা হয়ে থাকে, বছরের শেষ দুইদিন ও নতুন বছরের প্রথম দিন। শীতের পর বসন্তের আগমনে পার্বত্য চট্টগ্রামের পাহাড় গুলোতেও বসন্তের ছোঁয়া লাগে, ফলে পাহাড়ে দেখা যায় নানা ফুলের সমারোহ, নামা রকমের ফুলে গ্রামের চারপাশে ঘিরে থাকা পাহাড়গুলো ছেয়ে যায়। আর এই ফুলগুলো উৎসবের আগে ছেঁড়া হয় না। একেবারে বৈসাবির আগের রাতে ফুল ছিড়ে ঘর সাজানো হয়।
The Baisabi festival is celebrated for three days, the last two days of the old year and the first day of the new year. With the arrival of spring after winter, the hills of Chittagong also feel the touch of spring, as a result of which various types of flower can be seen in the hills. And these flowers are not torn before the festival. Absolutely the night before Vaisabi, the house is decorated with flowers.
চৈত্র সংক্রান্তির আগের দিন ত্রিপুরারা আগামীদিনের সুখ ও সম্পদের জন্য ইশ্বরের কাছে প্রার্থনা করেন। নদীর তীরে, মন্দিরে, বিশেষ পবিত্র স্থানে ধূপ ও দীপ জ্বালিয়ে শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করে তারা। চৈত্র সংক্রান্তির দিনটিকে বলা যায় খাদ্য উৎসব। এই উৎসবের প্রধায় আকর্ষন থাকে জনপ্রিয় খাবার পাঁচন।
On the eve of Chaitra Sankranti, Tripuras pray to God for future happiness and wealth. They pay their respects by burning incense and lamps on the banks of rivers, in temples, in special holy places. The day of Chaitra Sankranti is called food festival. The main attraction of this festival is the popular food panchan.
পানি উৎসব বৈসাবি উৎসবের এক জনপ্রিয় অংশ।এই উৎসেব আদিবাসী সবাই সবার দিকে পানি ছুড়ে উল্লাসে মেতে ওঠে। মারমা যুবকেরা পছন্দের মানুষের গায়ে পানি ছিটানোর মাধ্যমে ভালোবাসা প্রকাশ করে।
Pani Utsob is a popular part of Baisabi festival. Marma youths usually express their love by sprinkling water on the people of their choice.
বৈসাবি উৎসব উপলক্ষে আয়োজিত মেলায় পসরা বসে নানান জিনিসপত্রের। বিভিন্ন খেলা, নাচ, গান, নৃত্যে মেতে থাকে পাহাড়ি মানুষগুলো।
In the fair organized on the occasion of Vaisabi festival, various items are sold. The indigenous people are involved in various games, dances, songs and dances.
শুধু আদিবাসীরাই না, উৎসব উপলক্ষে সারাদেশ থেকে ভিড় করে অসংখ পর্যটক। মেহমান হিসেবে সবাইকেই আপ্যায়ন করে নেয় আদিবাসীর। সবাই এক হয়ে মেতে উঠে নতুন বছরের উৎসবে। মুছে যায় গ্লানি, ঘুচে যায় জরা।
Not only the tribals, but also innumerable tourists from all over the country come to join the festival. Indigenous people of Chittagong entertain everyone as guests. Everyone came together to celebrate the New Year.
আমার খুব ইচ্ছে আছে কোন এক বৈসাবি উৎসবে এসব আদিবাসী মানুষদের সাথে বৈসাবি উৎসব পালন করি।
I really want to celebrate Baisabi with these indigenous people in one of the Vaisabi festivals.
