Avocados Are Vegetables Or Fruits?
This seems very interesting to discuss because after scrolling tiktok, several people from other countries discussed that avocados were vegetables, and some people also said that avocados were fruits. So, which one is correct? Avocados are vegetables or fruit? For the answer, according to my own version, avocado is a fruit.
"Wait a minute! Why did you say it was a fruit?"
Because in Indonesia, avocados are called fruit and are always processed into sweet foods. Examples that are easy to make are fruit salads, puddings, cakes and juices. The types of preparations that I most often encounter are fruit salad and avocado juice that are sold on the roadside.
How do people from other countries react when they see that avocado is a fruit and is made into a sweet treat? Of course they were surprised when they saw it. Avocado is not categorized as a fruit because of its taste that is not sweet, like other vegetables and classifies that avocado is a vegetable.
Usually, avocados in other countries such as Japan, Mexico or in other countries, are used as a mixture of dishes or other preparations such as a dip sauce like in Mexico, namely Guacamole. Or used as a complement to a dish or just a garnish like steak and other dishes.
Do avocados in Indonesia have a sweet taste?
Certainly not. The sweet taste that is usually used as a preparation that I mentioned above usually uses sweeteners such as sweetened condensed or sugar to reduce the bitter taste in this avocado.
That's the article that I made which is not too long, because the discussion is also not too long from other people. I'm just looking for the gist of what other people have said.
So, do you think avocado is a vegetable or a fruit?
