Are You in favor of Removing the K-12 Program?
I am a product of K-12 Curriculum. We had FULL face-to-face classes back then and we also had ACTUAL work immersion. But still, when I entered college I went through the harsh phase of "pangangapa sa dilim". The culture shock was insane. If you feel dumb in high school, college will make you realize your feeling is correct. IT'S SERIOUSLY HARD, NO EXAGGERATION ADDED. So, if you are one of the those shallow people who support the abolishment of K-12 Curriculum, I pity you. I hope you realize how different today's generation of learners are. They are product of online class, they are heavily exposed to social media and most especially, they are self proclaimed entitled learners who mostly assumed that they knew everything but the fact their knowledge is only little about something. Additional two years in high school is not a waste of money, resources, time or years of any of the party involve. IT'S A MUST. The world is evolving. Incompetence will lead you nowhere. Nowadays, your academics is one of the helpful factors that will give you favorable results in the future—may it be your chosen course, college, career path and other opportunities. There are some who can't read like a high school student and can't even write a simple excuse letter. How much more if they are already tasked to make their own research paper, case study and the most complex of all, thesis. K-12 is a great stepping stone to be ready for greater challenge. Don't resent on the government for implementing it. You'll see the essence of it soon. There are people wants to remove the K-12 Program that started by the government. The first implementation of K-12 Program it looks like we are not agree to this, another expenses and another years of Studying. But, as time goes by we understand the purpose of Senior High School that it is just pre-college where students equiped and trained before they go to college. Honestly, there are still students in highschool that even a simple english word they didn't know. I've been a tutor or a teacher for months and I experienced some of my students still didn't know some simple english word. K-12 Program will help them assess their self. I'll be honest with my opinion that K-12 Program was really a big help for me. I am a product of it and I am proud that it helps me and open new things especially about research. College is not a easy journey and it really needs a preparations for it to take. Imagine, if we don't have senior high school Grade 10 students will be automatically go to first year college and it's not good for them. In my own opinion K-12 Program should be continue because it will help students to gain more knowledge that they will use it for the college level. Let us be more practical this time and think that the future of our child(ren) is the one who is topic of this problem. I hope that those people who are in charge of this, especially the Department of Education head will think many times because it has an impact if this program will be removed. I have so many relatives that are still young and I don't want them to suffer in the future. I want them to have a quality education but here in the Philippines honestly speaking we have an ugly education and government shoul revised the education system of this country. Malaki ang naitutulong ang additional 2 years for learning before stepping up on college but kung pag babasehan nila is yung qualifications sa pag aaplay ng trabaho ay yung college graduate parin kaya marami din ang sumang ayon dahil paano naman ang karapatan ng mga nakapag tapos lang sa senior high,siguro kung ako lang ang tatanungin sana bigyan din ng consideration yung di nakapag college na makapagtrabaho naman ng mas magandang sahod.pero kung ano man ang desisyon ng senado sana para sa ikabubuti ng lahat
I am not in favor of these k-12 nung walang pandemic, kasi tlgang kawawa din naman estudyante kasi halos ung oras na ginugugol nila dito eh suppose to be in college life na, pero.since pandemic happened and the face to face is very limited, gusto ko ituloy nila ito lalo na dun sa mga incoming grade 11 dahil for sure ako marami silang backlog sa mga subjects nila na need tutukan before magcollege.
Agree ako sayo na dapat lang talaga na hindi tanggalin ang k-12. Sobrang halaga nyan para maging globally competitive tayo. Ayusin lang yung sistema
Agree rin ako na mahalaga yung K-12 especially sa mga taong undecided pa rin sa course nila. May point yung isa kong nabasa noon na aanhin mo ang additional two years kung magiging regret mo rin pagdating ng araw haha. I think the education system must be changed and not the K-12 program
Alam mo bro, mahabanh usapin ang k12 program at ang opinyon natin ay nakabase sa kung ano ang nakikita at nararamdaman natin. Pero more than that, mahalaga din na malaman natin kung ano yung tingin ng ibang bansa satin. Ang daming nurses na graduate at nakapasa ng board exam pero nung nag work abroad. Hindi qualified dahil hindi sila nag undergo ng k12.
Sa buong Asia kasi during those time na wala pang K-12 tayo na lang ang hindi nakakasunod sa 12 year Educational standards prior to College. Hindi Kinoconsider ang ating mga College grads sa ibang bansa na graduate na or degree holder na dahil kulang pa ng 2 years sa required standard. Medyo nag-adjust tayo ng bongga sa umpisa pero dahil andyan na at nakaka adapt na ang bansa e dapat ituloy tuloy na at iimprove pa.
Di ako payag na tanggalin ang K-12
Uy, halos sabay tayo nagpublished and same topic pa hehe. Yung kapatid ko inabot na ngk-12. Sobrang hirap daw dahil sa virtual classes. Kaya nag stop muna siya kasi wala daw natututunan. Good read, brother.

It is necessary. Wala Ng Nakagawa ang against sa K 12. Mas mainam na yan para hindi mapag iiwanan ang ating mga graduates
At first I thought that it is just an extra burden to parents, especially for folks living in the rural area. The main requirement to become a factory worker here in Laguna is at least a high school graduate. Not all can continue the extra 2 years and decides to work once they hit 18 years of age. But looking at how complex stuff is right now it is a huge plus as subjects are compact but I still have some reservations on it since the majority are discussed nowadays online. It will be better if they will have the f2f approach as it is hard to learn stuff online due to distractions.
Same opinion here, produkto din ako ng K-12 and it benefits me a lot. As in! I could say that I'm eager to pursue my college degree even if I'm still in JHS and even when I finished it. But, I'll admit that I ain't that prepared. That's the fact, 'di lahat ng students (witty or not) ay well-prepared, lahat magugulantang talaga pag nag-college na. So, it's a big no no to abolish K-12 Program. Kakaawa mga students na magka-college nang kulang sa learnings lalo na now na di sure ang continuous na F2F classes. Magastos, yes. Hassle and delays? Yes. But when one had really seen the essence of K-12? It'll be worth the wait. Need lang na i-polish 'nung mga flaws para mas maging better pa 'yung implementation.

I'm from a country where we've got no K-12. Here it's more of a K-6 pre-curriculum after which the student's must choose a direction for his studies. Whether the student wants (and has the capability) to go the academic route (Choose continued science education) or if the student wants (and qualifies for) the more technical directions. (choose technical practical education). So we go to 1st grade at age 5. Then we go through 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade. In 8th we're tested through standardized aptitude tests to determine where our skills and aptitudes lie. With those test results we can then start to choose the rest of our academic path. We then spend 4 years (usually) from age 13 to 17 studying in that chosen education route before we're ready to go to either work or college/university. I think this is much better as it gives direction and focus to the academic careers of the children which then get education best suited to them.
