The Saturday was expected to be rainy but when I woke up, the sun was shining brightly at seven in the morning. My baby and I went out of our room to join the family for breakfast, we are always late as the parents eat their meal early, around 6:30 PM and although I badly wanted to join them, it’s always a challenge so we often end up eating by ourselves or sometimes they are there but would just get out of the table as they have errands and important things to do almost every day.
It’s the weekend, the first of December! Oh, 2022 is waving and I can’t help but recall what had happened this year, was there any significant event? All I could think of are the heartaches and bad experiences but nonetheless, we survived and now are on the last stretch for the year 2021, I hope 2022 would be a better year, God willing!
So, our plan today was to go to Jagna bay walk, in fact, it was a plan from three days ago but it was always raining in the afternoon and we were not able to do it before the niece and sister-in-law went to Cebu. They are going to renew their passports in Mandaue City by Monday.
Since they already had departed at eight in the morning, it will be a trip for just the three of us instead, my husband, Matti, and I.
In the morning, I had a few house chores, my husband was fixing our comfort room too. Then by lunchtime, my brother came home with some food from a birthday party, we were supposed to go there too and attend but then again it was raining the other day so we were not able to attend, he just brought the viand instead at home.
Our planned time of going out was at four so we can witness the sunset but then Matti was sleeping soundly we don’t want to disturb him so instead of four, we got out of the house at five. There was still light though but then, the sun had already set. Anyway, we saw it set on the road so that was enough, we just have to enjoy what’s left in front of us.
We always pass by this area but we never really had stopped by and enjoy the view. There’s a port in front and that’s giving an interesting view, but it isn’t that much of a view as it was already sundown.
However, a lot of people would come here for dinner or snacks. We decided to have dinner, we ordered tuna panga and some chicken with fries.
While waiting for our orders, we had time to take photographs around the bay walk. People started to arrive and I got hungry so we decided to get back to the restaurant, our orders were ready. Matti loves eating out, he would always eat a lot when we are in restaurants.
After dinner, we headed out, I contacted my brother to ask for the milk tea cafe that they visited a few weeks ago. I wanted to have some milk tea and also some blog topics. It took him some time to reply but it is okay, we waited until he mentioned the place, he forgot the name of the cafe though but based on the landmarks that he had mentioned, we figured it out.
The cafe is ABL Little Hideout and it is indeed a small space, their air-conditioning is only for the staff, how pitiful! We tried to go upstairs where there were other tables and low ones where guests can sit on their butt but there were a group of families who had somehow occupied the entire space, their chandeliers were quite interesting. It didn’t help that I was having a 50mm lens on an APSC camera so it was so tight taking photos there.
We decided to have our milk tea on the ground floor where there’s faux grass and two tables.
Unfortunately, Matti wanted some of my milk tea. After taking photos, James wanted to go home already as it was dark. I made a long sip and finished mine, I almost puked! Haha!
So we were already on the road, I sat in the front seat with Matti, I don’t usually sit in front of Matti but this time, I decided to do so, I know it is dangerous but I want to talk with my husband and he allowed us but he was just running slow.
We talked about a lot of things, the family, our plans, we just realized that this was a dream we longed for before - road trips and us talking about anything and everything together with our baby. Soon, when he is a bit older and he can sit on his highchair at the back, we will definitely go often on road trips around Bohol and explore the island.
It rained when we reached Duero, it’s such a nice feeling being able to talk like we were just new lovers. I remember when we started dating, we could talk about anything until midnight, even past midnight, get eyeballs together and laugh about it.
It’s quite hard to talk freely now that we are living with our parents, we don’t want to hurt anyone with words and so going out by ourselves gives us a breather, it helps us regain our old friendship. We started as friends before we became a couple so we know that we can talk to each other about anything and everything.
One question that I had asked James was if it ever crossed his mind to get a car? He said nope. He never even dreamed of it, he was satisfied with just a motorcycle but when I had a miscarriage and he believed that part of the reason was me riding a motorcycle, he had it in his mind that once I get pregnant again, we will surely get a car for my safety and the baby.
I am happy that my husband thinks of our welfare. He always does. And we are living this dream, our time with each other with our little family, Matti completed our little home and for that, I am grateful to God for granting us a son.
That’s how our Saturday went. We got home, rested after getting ready for bed. It was a great one.
