CCLEX RFID Installation
The new Cebu-Cordova Express Link had been inaugurated by President Rodrigo Duterte in the last week of April and then it opened just a few days after. My husband and I had been wanting to get to the bridge but before that, we still need to get the RFID installed on the car.
It was actually very easy to do that and fast too! I'd like to share with you how that went.
We decided to book the installation in Il Corso Lifemalls because the schedule in SM Seaside was not available on a Sunday. So after Matti Enjoyed An Hour Play at Kidzoona, we then went on our way to Il Corso. This mall is just a few minutes away from SM Seaside.
Here's a view of the road from the main highway to SM Seaside. It was still three in the afternoon when we went out of the mall after having groceries and I decided to take a photo while we were in the parking area.
Somewhere in those mountains, our neighborhood lies. We have an overlooking view of SM Seaside.
And so we proceed to Il Corso. Upon arriving, we headed to where there was the CCLEX RFID installation booth was located. This is just a small tent booth and there were a few people around to help with the installation. We parked right next to it and then the husband got out of the car immediately as he was already a bit late from his scheduled time.
Thankfully, there were only a few people around, the others were just walk ins and when we came, the installers already knew that we were there for installation based on our plate number.
So my husband was puzzled when the guy called him by his last name. Then after a few seconds, he then realized he filled out a form online.
My baby and I were just inside the car, I was breastfeeding him at that time and as you can see, our front view was all food stalls which made me a bit hungry but then it was scorching hot, I didn't like going out of the car.
The installation went on and it was really fast. The guy here just placed something on the left headlight and that's it. He then went on to explain to my husband what he must do to ensure the RFID won't get damaged.
Excuse our car for it's been three months since Kai's last bath. We had been planning to get him to the car wash but we had been delaying it. Anyway, that's how the RFID looked.
A card was provided, this will be used for topping up so whenever we pass by the toll gate, we would just immediately be scanned and charged right away. That's it and we went home after. I guess we only spent around five minutes there, it was fast and smooth!
According to the installer, we must ensure that the RFID won't get wet within 24 hours from the time of installation. We had pretty sunny weather but we need to cover it with plastic so that if case it rains that night or the next day, it is just safe.
My husband was a bit relaxed and confident that it won't rain that day but actually, the next morning, it was sprinkling. Thankfully, he was convinced to put plastic on that area that night.
Here are the steps for getting the RFID installed:
Prepare your license plate or conduction number and then fill out the registration form online
Pick an available schedule and installation sites. These are the available installation sites:
SM Seaside City Cebu in SRP, Cebu City
Landers Superstore in Mabolo, Cebu City
Mactan Newtown, at the parking near McDo
Pueblo Verdo in Lapu-Lapu City (near the PUV Terminal)
Anjo World Theme Park in Minglanilla
Il Corso Lifemalls
Proceed to the RFID sticker installation areas on the schedule selected.
Currently, it is still a cash basis so the RFID installed is not yet very helpful at this point but it is still good that we have that ready. I will share soon our experience in going through the express link soon.
