From time immemorial, the Bengali nation has gone through many ups and downs as a hidden life force, and that power is its culture. The invincible and invincible cultural power of the Bengalis is at the root of the mischievous vitality with which the Bengalis did not accept in the face of various political storms, in the midst of hundreds of misfortunes like famine, riots and riots.
Now the Bengali culture reveals to us the appearance of a mixed culture, which has been formed by the accumulation of polyester of different races, different religions, different periods, different periods. Its origins can be traced back to the eighth century AD. From this time onwards, the impression of the transformation of non-Aryan culture began to be felt in Bengali culture. Just as Brahmanical and Buddhist influences permeated Bengali culture, so did the currents of Islamic culture. Thus, under the influence and combination of different religions and cultures, Bengali culture has taken a cohesive form, becoming the common resource of all Bengalis irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
The path of Bengali culture has been traversed in two main streams since the Middle Ages. On the one hand, the aristocratic culture directly influenced by the kings and princes, on the other hand, the folk culture created in the style of folk life. The reason why Bengali culture has been able to defend itself in the midst of the rise and fall of various monarchies in this period is because of its deep connection with the land and the people.
In the context of the establishment of the English monarchy in the eighteenth century, a strong wave of European culture came to Bengali culture in the nineteenth century. As a result of acquaintance and connection with Western ideology and modern education, Bengali culture has not been washed away, but has been nourished. And the coordinating feature is the reason. The tide of renaissance has taken place in Bengali culture under European influence. In the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, Derozio, Rammohun, Vidyasagar, Madhusudan, Bankim, Rabindranath, Nazrul and other great thinkers brought a strong flow of innovation in Bengali education, social reform, art and literature. The Bengali nation has been baptized in the mantra of liberalism and greater humanity. Thus, in the twentieth century, one trend of Bengali culture has been the civic culture influenced by the western culture and the other is the rural folk culture which has gone like a fruitful stream.
