In my previous article, Popularity of Webinars and its Pros and Cons, I pointed out some elements of a webinar as well as the pros and cons. Among the cons that I mentioned are Less Interaction and Less focus. Now, let me introduce to you a technique on how we can at least keep interaction and get the focus of audiences.
The technique that I am referring to is making a the webinar interactive. Even in face to face seminars we are actually looking forward that it would allow interaction between the speaker and the audience, or the speaker should at least get the attention of the audiences. Through some of my observations and experiences, here are the ways on how a host, a speaker can transform a webinar into an interactive one:
Engage to the audience by asking questions or trivia. This is the common way of getting the audience attention. The speaker will ask questions and then the audience will be allowed to give answers and ideas through a conversation or through the use of chat or comments. Some speakers do this before starting the talk, in between topics and after the topic.
Show relevant photos and videos. Once in a while, the speaker can show photos and videos relevant to the topic to catch the attention of the audience. Too much text would be monotonous in the long run for presentations.
Make the talk personal and conversational. This means that the speaker can share personal experiences. Telling a story and as if talking to your audience personally would really help.
Create polls, surveys, quiz using tools. There are available tools that would allow the speaker to get the ideas and answers from the audiences in real time. One example of this is using Mintemeter. Using Mentimeter.com, the speaker can build interactive presentations, collect polls and opinions from participants and a graphical presentation of the answers will be shown right to the audiences just like the examples that I have shown.
Keep the enthusiastic spirit. Once a speaker takes the virtual floor, the said speaker should set the tone of the webinar. Being lively, enthusiastic speaker is really important.
Giveaways and games. Personally, this is one of the things I am looking forward with webinars, the games and giveaways. The speaker or host can device some games like quiz game, asking a question related to the topic and then whoever can answer first in the chatbox will be the winner and will be given a prize, most of them give a load or a little cash straight to the mobile wallets. Some would give mind games as well. To allow movement from the audience, one can do "show me game" , just like the typical "bring me game" which the audience can show a thing mentioned by the speaker. Electronic Raffle can also be utilized.
So those are some ways that I can share on making a webinar more interactive to maintain the interest of the audience. I am not an expert speaker, those are just based on my observations in the many webinars that I have attended.
Thanks for reading this article, I am hoping at least that you get something from it.

These steps are quite the way to have a perfect webinar. To really appraise the effect of a webinar, there should be a feedback, it must be interactive and when giveaways are a part of the procedure, believe me, you have just the best outcomes.
