The Tale of my Mid-year Bonus
It's May, the time for Mid-year bonus for government workers in the Philippines. It is one of the anticipated bonuses for the year aside from the Christmas bonus. According to guidelines, it should be released not earlier than May 15 of the year and it is equivalent to 1 month salary of an employee.
Having a mid-year bonus brings happiness to government employees. For some they save it, some spend it to buy new gadgets and stuffs and some also for travels. But for me, it's a different story but I know, a few can also relate. Let me share to you this poem I published in noise.cash earlier.
Who can relate to my story? Yes, mid-year bonus is real but payables are also real. We have home mortgage to pay, life-insurance, health insurance, upcoming kids tuition for the coming school year and many more. This is a common story to those who have families with income just enough for the needs of the family. Shortage in budget leads to some loans or debts. I was able to manage to pay my payables in the last few months because of my extra income here in noise and read but for now, the market is so bearish and I am also so busy, I was not able to keep the pacing of writing. So, there my midyear bonus goes, to the many payables. But, I am still happy that at least they are paid and now, I will not be bothered on thinking what will I use to pay for it. Thanks to the Lord for the provision!
I am not complaining but I just long that I could use the Midyear bonus for wants not for the needs. ^.^ But, I know it would not be possible for now. So I better appreciate the good benefits my mid-year bonus has brought me and my family. I may not be able to spend it to the wants I longed for but I was able to manage it wisely by spending it on priority rather than luxurious wants.
How about you? Can you relate to my story? I would love also to know your ideas and thoughts about this.
