After the many days of waiting, yesterday (Wednesday), we know the result of our RT-PCR test. The City Health Office has not yet contacted us but through our connections, we know the result already. We are comforted at the same time sad. We are comforted that our direct family, me, husband and the kids have negative results. But on the other hand, one has a positive result and that is my mother-in-law. She was surprised to know the result, but actually both she and Chelle already had symptoms beforehand, only that Chelle was really brought to the hospital due to abdominal pain. We then transfer her to another house for isolation and we will wait for instructions from the CHO.
Before the result was out, there are many things that comes into my mind. The waiting time made me overthink, the many what ifs, many worries, many negative thoughts, fears. I was really anxious.
But, on the other hand, I am comforted that there are friends who are making follow-ups, sending positive vibes, giving us some "foods and medicines", fellow writers here on read and noise that gives encouraging words. You are really helping me, and thanks for that. And most of all, I am comforted with God's promise that He will not leave us, He is always there and He is control of everything. This time is given for us to strengthen our faith in Him.
Random things
Let me share to you random things about us while we are home quarantine.
Solution for the University Modified Lockdown
In my last article The University is on Modified Lockdown, I shared about this management strategy to help lessen the number of cases. I shared about the need of on-site transactions and one of my colleagues suggested to utilize software that would allow Remote Access and we tried the TeamViewer and Anydesk software applications and it works. We now have an access to our enrolment system even we are at home and it really helped in the enrolment process. For the applications to be accessed, the computer should have an internet connection. We used the Anydesk for now because it has a trial version and more lighter compared to TeamViewer.
Eilan's first week of class
This week is Eilan's first week of school and this home quarantine enables me to attend to his needs and supervise his classes. The school gave them videos for the lessons for the day and the parents should follow the time set for the said activities. There are lessons, activities and also art works, Eilan enjoyed making those and of course his sister Lianne became a visitor because she will also attend to his Kuya's classes. Next week, she will have her own time of class too.
This I can say is the blessing of being at home for this home quarantine. I became a hands on mom for the schooling of my kids.
What we do when we need something?
There are really times that we need to buy grocery items, food supplies, medicines. We ask some of our friends to do us some errands. We also utilize some food delivery services. We follow the protocols so that no more compromise will happen. I am thankful that there are friends who are willing to help as well.
Chelle's Update
Chelle, is getting better, her appetite for food is back and no more abdominal pain. Only that, she is fighting loneliness, she feels sad. I am happy that our Pastor's family also shared to her some food that she can munch while waiting for the everyday food delivery in the isolation facility.
Closing thoughts
We should always see the positive side amidst the negative events. This trial is temporary and after such, we will be hailed victorious and we have our own stories to tell about how we surpass this trial in life.
Will share here some updates, thanks for reading. Please keep safe.
