The Piggy Banks now Opened

When I was new here in read I shared an article about Teaching kids to save while they are young. This is our way of teaching them accountability and they have the feeling of fulfilment that they earn some of their savings. We teach them to save for future use and for emergency cases.

And just last Sunday, we opened their piggy banks.

The kids were happy seeing all the coins and bills they have saved out from their rewards and from their parent's pockets. Everytime a person will give them money as a gift we put it in their piggy banks. We also reserved coins for them to add in their savings. They participated in counting the coins. Though that little one seems to be only messing up with the task of counting the coins.

How much each Piggy Bank contained?

• Eilan (Bluie) - Php 1173.00

• Lianne (Pinky) - Php 1196.00

• Eila (Yela) - Php 1280.00

The youngest one has the most of the coins because everyone that comes in the house, she will ask for coins to put in her piggy bank. She is very eager in putting coins there.

What will be spent with the money?

10% for church as love offering/tithes, 20% for savings and the remaining will be used for their desired item to be bought. Last time they wanted a bike but later on changed their mind. They said it will be a scooter, for the youngest maybe we will buy a horse toy that she can ride on. We will still look for a durable one.

This piggy bank savings is a way of training our kids to save for something they want to buy. It is a way of telling them that when they buy something, it would take time to save for the amount.

Another small win worth sharing
