Acer is one of the ICT companies in the world that engages in development of products like laptops, desktop computers, smartphones, tablets, web servers. They also offer software and other services. ( Source : Forbes)
Like other companies, Acer gives loyalty benefits to its customers. One of them is membership to Acer Academy. This membership is enjoyed by an academe that purchases Acer products with a specified amount.
Our institution was able to meet the requirements and now we are a Platinum Member of Acer Academy. Most of our computers in the academe are Acer brands.
So what are the benefits of being a Member?
Computer Laboratory Dress-up
The Acer company will sponsor a computer laboratory dress-up in which they will be putting their brand in the the laboratory. So here is our computer laboratory with Acer dress-up.
The laboratory looks elegant with the dress-up they made. It is one of the unique laboratories in our campus.
Award for IT Excellence
Another benefit is the the giving a special award to a chosen IT student. The said IT student will be given an IT excellence award based on his/her grades. The one with highest Grade Point Average (GPA) is the one given with this award. So far, we have awarded this to one graduate who was also a cum-laude of his batch. They are giving a certificate and an acer customized medal.
Sponsorships
The company gives a specific amount to the member school that could be used for school activities. It could be used for prizes, meals or other needs for a specific activity.
Free Products
They are giving computers for information kiosks and just recently, they message us that they will be donating 5 tablets for the use of the school. These products are really a big help in delivering services to our students.
Product Discounts
The students and faculty of the member school is entitled for a discount to the selected products of Acer like laptops and desktop computers. This can be availed through their authorized resellers located within the region.
Internship opportunities
The company als0 offers internship opportunity for our IT students to its partner establishments. We have not availed this yet because of the pandemic.
Free trainings
The company gives links and access to free trainings sponsored by their partners like Microsoft. They will invite the faculty of the institution to attend such seminars for free.
Closing thoughts
We are indeed blessed that we have been awarded with the Acer Academy membership because we are really enjoying the benefits as well. It makes me happy to think that these companies have programs like this that can help the clients. Especially in this time now of pandemic, almost all need computers for school. The benefits are very helpful not only helpful to us IT faculty but the IT students as well.
