"Our item looks new, with bear design, no issues, very nice! This is how it looks when worn, for only Php 300.00 / $6.00, CODE BEAR , just type MINE BEAR for only Php 300.00 / $6.00". This is just an example of a line in a live selling and when you like the item, you will key in the code and if you are the first to send the code, the item will be yours. Then the seller will write your name on the item's tag.
How many of you have been hooked with live selling or have you experienced live selling? Online sellers are now using the livestream to maximize the time and opportunity in selling their products. The products sold is not just limited in dresses, household rummages, preloved items but also to plants and jewelries, anything that a person would like to sell online. Online sellers are those sellers who uses different online platforms to advertise and sell their products. Months ago, the way of selling and advertising is only through posting. A seller would take a picture of his/her goods with proper lighting, positioning, making sure that it would look good in the picture and post it in social media accounts or online marketplaces like Lazada, Shoppee. But now, the trend is "Live Selling", almost everyday, I can see live selling in the Facebook platform.
Now I asked a friend who is in live selling, what is the difference if you just post your items and when you sell it live. These are some of the things that she shared.
Saves time. She said that when she do live selling, she can save time because she will no longer take time to take pictures of those items, making sure that it would look good, label the items, schedule for posting, checking who "mine/buy" the item. In the live selling, she will just show the item, tell the condition of the item or its little flaws and then give the code and miners will be there.
Fast selling. My friend who is selling preloved bags can sell up to 100 pieces of bags for 3 hours of live selling. Just wow! Live sellers would really opt to this because they observed that the selling in this kind of platform is fast. You just need to have viewers who will "Mine" your products. And based on my experience as a buyer in live selling, when you find the items nice, you will really have the urge to be the one to say mine, and you became happy that you are the first and then realize after, these products are not really my needs.
Show the item as if they are seeing the actual. The items are shown in every angle and when it needs to be worn, the seller would wear it to show a sample to the buyers/miners. With these, the buyers would have an idea on how it looks when worn.
Now that we know the differences, let's know what are the things needed or the factors to be considered when doing a live selling.
Items/products. Of course, you should have first the products to be sold. It could be plants, dresses, RTW, preloved products, food, jewelry, whatever you like to sell.
Stable Internet connection. Stable internet connection is a must to be able to have a good reception on the side of the buyers and you would also see immediately who are those who say "mine" to your products.
Good Gadget for capturing the live. One could use a phone or a tablet that should have at least a nice camera that would nicely capture your live. Some also uses ring lights to have proper lighting.
Audience. You should have audience in live selling. One way of attracting audience is encouraging those who are on the live to share and you will have a raffle to those sharers. Guessing games are also popular like what's in the box, what's in the bag. Sharing the livestream to different groups is also a way of attracting buyers.
High Confidence Level. I think, this is also one of the most important asset that a live seller should have. You cannot persuade your audience to buy if you don't have an appeal or some spiels. One should be energetic and should have the rapport to the possible buyers.
Now that we know the advantages and the factors needed for live selling, would you like to try? I am also an online seller but I have not tried the live selling yet because I lack the 5th factor.
CONCLUSION
Online selling has evolved through time, from the traditional way of posting pictures now it is using the livestream capabilities of social media. I wonder what would be the next trend in online selling. Whatever it may be let's just make sure that when we are selling, we are honest with the condition of our products and also that we are pricing our products right. As buyers also, we should be responsible in paying for our "mine" items.
