This week, I was able to watch a livestream sponsored by a product brand here in the Philippines named Tiny Buds. It was a very interactive and informative video that features honeybees in a controlled environment. The video was able to show the beehives, the process of harvesting honeycomb frames and the extracting of honey.
The beekeeper also gave interesting facts about the bees. I am sharing some of those I remembered and do a further research about it.
The worker bees are the ones producing honey. According to National Honey Board, the flower nectars that are collected by the bees are broken down into simple sugars that is stored in the honeycombs.
The bee colony has a queen who lays about 2000 eggs a day. According to @JTatlow a beekeeper too who is active in sharing information about bees in noise.cash, the queens cannot feed themselves, they are waiting for the worker bees to feed them. If the queen is unable to be productive, the colony will breed a new queen and tend to eliminate the unproductive queen.
The drone or male bees dies after mating with the queen bee dies after the mating process.
The worker bees get rid of the dead bees to avoid contamination in the hive.
The bees needs teamwork in doing their tasks.
The bees only sting when they are when provoked or agitated.
The bee sting is near the heart, when a bee sting, it may mean her death.
Lessons we can learn from the bees
Through the interesting facts, I was able to capture life lessons that we can learn out of their attributes, I identified a few.
Teamwork. The need for teamwork is important not only in the work setting but even in our home or school. Just like the bees, they work hand in hand to protect the hive, to produce the honey, to fed the queen. Through teamwork we can make the work faster and easier.
Acknowledgment of roles. In the bee colony, they have their different roles and they perform it as much as they could. The worker bees accept the role as workers, at the same time the drones accepts their death after mating with the queen. The queen tries its best to be productive for the growth of the colony. In our lives, we can have different roles, some may be hard for us but accepting the role and learning to do it is the key for successful performance of duties and responsibilities.
Cleaning up mess. Literal or not, cleaning up our mess is important. In a non-literal sense, whenever we do something not desirable, we are told to "clean up our mess" and to make things right.
Choosing battles. The bees only sting when provoked or when they feel harmed. When they sting, it may mean their death. Just like them we should choose our own battles, not to fight when things are not worth fighting for. Fighting for worthless things may cost our energy and time. Sometimes, going away is a best option.
Conclusion
There are things in life that we learn from other things such as insects. They may be small, but they have their own attributes that are admirable and amazing that we could relate. May the lessons from the bees may have value on you today.
How about you? Do you have life lessons learned from insects? I would love to know your own story. If I have missed something for this article, please let me know so that I can attend to it.

My grandpa used to have a honeybee-making business. But yeah, no human society has ever reached that level of unity, yet. Therefore, this is one of the many lessons we can learn from bees.
