Whether you are a job holder, a freelancer, a self-employed entrepreneur, you will have to market yourself to increase your earning potential. Here are my two cents on how to market yourself.

Build a social presence: Join a lot of social media sites, use the same profile picture, the same name, and the same bio, so that people can easily identify you.
Build a website: Buy a domain and hosting and build a personal website, share your CV and portfolio on your website. If you do not have money to build a website, you can try a free one-page website service like about.com

Start blogging: Blogging is not just for writers who want to make money blogging, blogging is also a marketing tool. If you write interesting content, people are interested in you.

Start a Blog: Blogging Helps You to Succeed Online

Bloggers are the writers who publish articles online on their own website (technically called a blog). Apart from writing and publishing on their blog, bloggers also manage and operate their website, which includes marketing, promoting, moderating comments, and things like that. Bloggers also do SEO and digital marketing because without SEO and digital marketing, they will not get traffic and when there is no traffic, bloggers will not earn from their blogs. Therefore traffic is the key to earning from your blog and SEO and digital marketing are two methods to build traffic on your blog. As a blogger, you also need these skills.

Making Money From Your Blogs

When people start blogging or create a website, they come across the best monetization tool for a website, i.e. Adsense. They are in such a hurry that apply to adsense even when their websites are work in progress. Adsense has simple rules, your website needs to have useful and meaningful content that is not copied from other sources, you need to have a lot of content, and you need to have important pages like about, privacy, etc. As long as you follow these rules, your website will be approved. Interestingly, sometimes you might just be unlucky. You will be rejected even when you have followed the rules.

Just because you have published a blog does not mean you will be eligible to participate on adsense. Getting approved from adsense is really hard and even so making money with adsense ads. But if you use adsense, you can earn really well from a single click. If you use adsense, you will know that your click-through rate increases if you choose auto ads instead of manually adding codes. Instead of placing ads on the place you want, enabling auto ads and allowing Google to place ads is better. I found this by doing it myself.

Adsense allows you to use other ad networks alongside adsense ads. However, you need to remember one basic rule. When you are applying for adsnese, you should not have any ads on your site. You need to submit a site without any ads and promotional materials. If you have ads on your site while you are submitting to adsense, your site will be rejected outright. However, you are allowed to have ads on your site from other ad networks once you start using adsense. I have been using infolinks, media.net, even adhitz, bitcoadz, and a-ads on my adsnese approved site.

Building Traffic and Engagements on Your Blog

In my early days of blogging, I was commenting on a lot of blogs. The primary purpose of my blog commenting was to build backlinks, build traffic, and also build engagements on my blog posts. Sadly, after 3-4 months I understood that nothing worked. Blog comments gave you no-follow backlinks and no-follow backlinks do not tell search engines to follow the link, thus, these no-follow links do not help in SEO, reciprocation ratio was so low, I received one comment after I had commented on 20 plus blogs. Traffic also rarely came from blog comments. I was spending time on nonsense activities.

There is no doubt that Google is the best traffic for your blog. Getting traffic from Google means you are getting organic traffic. organic traffic means people are visiting your site from search engines voluntarily. Since people are visiting voluntarily, they are likely to engage with your content and you will be making money. In order to get google traffic, your site needs to be ranked very high on google search.

Interlinking helps in building traffic and retaining traffic. If you interlink your posts, your visitors might be checking your linked posts as well. If that happens, your visitors will be staying on your site a little longer and also interact with your post, which will ultimately reduce your bounce rate.

I agree so. Blogging will really test your patience just so you can earn money. You will undergo a lot of processes just as you've mentioned. Yet, it is also a very great tool to improve your writing skills.
