How Color of Your Skin Affects Your Online Earnings

You may want to debate on this but there is white supremacy in the world. White supremacy is a thought that says the White People are superior and have the right to rule over Black, Brown, or Yellow People.

White people are the Europeans who spread worldwide. They established colonies and ruled other races for many years. In the United States, they subjugated the Indians and established their own country, in South America, Asia, and Africa they ruled the natives.

I am sharing my own experience. Recently, I was in talks with an American client about building eCommerce apps for him. I asked $300 for the app. He offered $200. When I refused to build an app for $200 he said, $200 is a lot of money for you guys, you can do a lot of things in your country. Look at his intention. He was not paying for my hard work, he was thinking to buy cheap labor from a third-world country.

Most of the time, I just get rejected because I do not belong to the tier 1 country. What has my ability to work got to do with my location, cast, and creed?

Recently, a Singaporean friend shared his experience. Singaporeans use English as a first language, but my Singaporean friend was not be paid as much as my American or British counterpart, despite having more experience.

Even though people are doing a lot of things to stop this racist thought, the thought is still prevalent. This thought is creating problems for people of other colors. This thought is not only promoted by the White Race, but even people of other colors have started believing this thought. They think the white race is superior, they subjugate their own people to support the white race.

History has always been brutal to people other than the white race. From slavery and colonialism to the Great World Wars, the White Race has inflicted humanity in a great magnitude. They have sure done some great things in the field of science and technology, but at what cost, we need to understand this.

Well, it is also true that slowly things are changing, People of other colors and races are on equal footing with the white race, and white supremacy is gradually fading. You can see Black people (Africans), Brown People (Indians, Brazilians), and the Yellow people (Chinese, Koreans, Japanese) excelling in many walks of life. The thoughts of racism are very strong, it is prevalent everywhere, all we need is to assimilate ourselves.

How Democracy Provides Favorable Environment for Income Opportunities

If you are working online, your earnings might be heavily affected if you are from Asia or Africa. However, your income can also be affected due to your country’s political conditions. Whether you have noticed or not, a lot of earning platforms restrict users from Cuba, Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, and North Korea from participating in their platforms.

If there is no democracy in your country, your income will be heavily affected.

I live in a republic, there is a democracy in the country, where elected government rules for 5 years and then peacefully transfer the power to the successive government. However, about 25 years ago, there was absolute monarchy. Ten years of bloody conflict overthrew the King.

When there was a political instability, country was mainly relaying on foreign aid and the country debt increased day by day. Businesses were not performing well, trade and commerce were not doing good. People were afraid to invest in new ventures, industries were going bankrupt.

Now, that there is democracy in the country, there is a favourable market for business, new investments are coming in, new businesses are sprouting, and country’s GDP has substantially improved.

Even though there is no democracy in some countries and democracy is not working properly in some countries, democracy is the idea political system for the 21st century and beyond. Democracy is a government of the people, by the people, for the people (according to Abram Lincoln’s definition). When there is no democracy, not only people will suffer but country’s economy will also suffer badly.

Democracy provides favourable environment for businesses. When there is democracy people will trust their government and will be encouraged to do business.
