It often happens to us in the summer that we have rats and mice in the yard or in the house.

Now I will share with you my experiences with mice and how to get rid of them how to destroy them.

Last year it happened that I had mice in the house they came in as soon as the door to the house opened but why?

My neighbor keeps pigs and has fodder in the yard and corn and they feed too much and so they multiplied with the neighbor in the house and then soon with me in my possession.

I called for deratization as was necessary and then I learned the following:

No matter how much we are fans of animals, meeting these small rodents does not cause pleasant emotions in our country. Only their presence disturbs us and makes us think about how to destroy mice in the house. These unwanted guests cause a lot of material damage, and leave traces of feces wherever they move. With the onset of colder weather, they start looking for shelter and a warm home, and will really appreciate your effort to prepare for winter, so it can happen that you get roommates that you never wanted.

They bring with them diseases and bacteria that can seriously endanger our health. The traces they leave behind can also be exacerbated by some diseases such as allergies and asthma. That is why it is important to find a solution as soon as possible and get rid of these pests.

What do mice eat?

Mice need to nibble something all the time, so they both renew and sharpen their teeth. Mice eat an amount of food equivalent to 10% of their weight per day. Mice eat any food that humans use for their own use or to feed animals. They are not big pickers when it comes to nutrition, but they prefer dry food corn, wheat, barley, sunflower. Fresh fruits and vegetables are a special treat for them.

By biting, mice do not only cause material damage to us in the house, but if they occur in warehouses where food is stored, they can also cause huge monetary losses to the economy. They can very easily contaminate food in our home. That is why it is important that we keep food either in the house or in the warehouse well sealed and in an appropriate way, and thus reduce the chances of contamination.

The best measure against these rodents is prevention, but even when we take all the prevention to prevent the appearance of rodents, there is no guarantee that they will not find the path we overlooked.

Mouse droppings

The first sign that indicates the presence of a mouse are traces of feces. In search of food, mice crawl to many unhygienic places where they can pick up various pathogens. Before they came to our home, these rodents probably visited a sewer, a septic tank, a landfill or some container.

They are the real reservoirs of a number of diseases, sources of viruses and bacteria, but also fungi and parasites. The most dangerous diseases they can transmit are plague, tularemia, sodoku fever, leptospirosis, salmonellosis, trichinosis, leishmaniasis, coccidiosis and the most famous mouse fever. Feces but also urine or discarded hair cause allergic reactions.

Poison for mice

Many are not exactly supporters of this way of solving the problem of rodents, and for several reasons. Primarily due to the cruel death of rodents, but there are also those of a practical nature. The venom for mice is so strong that it is also harmful to humans, but also to pets and other animals that humans raise. This way of treating rodents should be especially avoided if you have small children and pets in the house. Another reason is that the poison can act on the mouse not where it was consumed, but in some hard-to-reach place, and we can only know that by the terribly unpleasant smell, when we may not even be able to get rid of it.

Of course, all this can be avoided by hiring a professional rodent control service, which will know where and what baits and poisons to put. They will also use protective boxes and masks that will prevent pets or children from coming into contact with mouse baits.

Poisons for rodents that can be found on our market can be divided into fast-acting and co-acting. Fast-acting poisons are extremely toxic, and act only on the individual who consumed the preparation, while these co-workers kill rodents three to ten days after consumption, infect the entire litter and thus destroy the population at that location.

How to catch mice

Catching a mouse is not an easy task. One should be well acquainted with his habits and way of life. Mice easily adapt to all conditions, they do not mind cold or too much heat. I can’t stay hungry because they eat absolutely everything they come across. They reproduce at a tremendous rate, so if some protection measures are not taken or if we do not destroy those few specimens that have settled in our home, we could soon have a real invasion.

If you have decided not to get a cat, which can be a good solution for these pests, you can try some of these tricks to get rid of them, before you decide on a more aggressive method.

Mice hate certain herbal scents - chamomile, mint, oleander, lemon. On pieces of cotton wool or tuffs, drip some of these essential oils and place them where you think the mouse appears. This method is effective if you notice one mouse, otherwise it will not have any effect, but it can be a good prevention measure.

Laundry softener - chemicals that are harmless to humans contain something that bothers mice, so you can use a laundry softener if you wet a towel and place it next to where the mouse comes out.

Naphthalene - the strong smell of mothballs affects the nerve cells of rodents, and therefore they avoid it when they smell it

Catching with glue - apply the glue for mice on a piece of cardboard and put some food on the glue that will attract the mouse, when the mouse comes for food, it will remain stuck on the cardboard.

Mousetrap - place it where you noticed the movement of the mouse, a better idea than a piece of cheese is peanut butter - grease the trap and wait, the mouse will be easier to catch because it can't take a piece of food and wipe it, but has to eat it on the spot.

If you want to get rid of them, and still make it a more humane way, door traps are ideal. They lure the mouse and when it falls into the trap the door closes. And then you have to free yourself from temptation. If you do it near the house, expect the return of the mouse soon - they remember and mark their territory, so it is best to take it as far away from the house as possible.

Conclusion

Mice are not easy to catch or get rid of. We have been fighting them for a long time, without a clear winner in sight. But we have found ways to limit their prevalence and impact on our lives. That is why the best solution is to hire a professional rodent control company.

I hope I helped you and explained everything about that little fit.
