Talks at the table at Grandma's house
The hour of food is usually not only the hour in which people eat but a moment where light conversations can be held about what was done in the day, or how it was to the people in the day.
A very widespread tradition here in this country is to meet on Sundays at my grandparents' house and share the whole family around a table, lunch.
There, all the successes and failures that have been had during the week are told.
I remember when I visited my grandmother's house in a nearby place where we lived, and the dogs came out to greet us as soon as we arrived. My relatives had a very small car, a Volkswagen, and we left early, around nine in the morning, on Sunday morning, because I shared a lot with a cousin of mine who lived there at my grandmother's house.
He used to record a lot of cassettes of old rock music from the KISS group and Led Zeppelin.
In addition to that, I remember that while we were waiting for the time to get to lunch, which at my grandmother's house was lunch around 1 in the afternoon, we would play video games. At that time, the Atari 2600 was in fashion.
We played a few games of Defender, Missile Command, and Asteroids, and I remember that my grandfather, at the table, asked us how the game had been and that was a reason for fun and laughter and smile. We all answered at the same time "very well" , but that the other day I had cheated, both my cousin and I, we do the same haha.
It was a pleasant atmosphere, the one there was for those days. I am talking about many years ago, about 30 years ago, approximately, or maybe more.
And looking back now, I realize everything we talked about, drinking and talking at the table, those were good times.
