This is a story created using experimental narrative techniques, I bring you fiction that I hope you find entertaining and interesting.

A particular creation, and at least let's say "rare".

The wind was blowing and the sky was clear. The stars were in all their splendor. The night was young, and so were we.

We had been walking for hours, having left the small town where we had been staying for a few days. It was still early, but we knew that if we didn't get going soon, we wouldn't make it before dark.

The planet's great moon was already beginning to rise in the sky as we walked along the forest path toward our home, which lay on the other side of a great mountain range.

We had been traveling around this planet for years, not only because it was beautiful to see from space, but because extraordinary things were happening here that we wanted to investigate further.

As a member of an anthropological expedition team dedicated to studying human behavior, I had been sent here on a mission: to observe what they called "plant size." These people liked size - bigger was better - and they loved having huge plants in their homes and businesses.

They even grew them indoors. Some had planted so largely that they could barely fit through the door when you walked into their homes or offices. It was fascinating to see how large these plants could grow before they began to die out.

People here were obsessed with size. business. We were here to find out why they liked big plants so much, and how they managed to grow them so big.

It was a fascinating mission, one I had been working on for years, but each time I returned from Earth I felt I had learned something new about these people, something that could help us understand them better.

It was a strange custom, but one that we were happy to document and learn more about. We had just started our investigation when the unthinkable happened:

The planet was invaded by an alien force from another world! I had been sent here to find out why they liked plants so big, and what the implications might be for human evolution.

My mission was simple:

  • Observe them.

  • Learn as much as possible about their culture.

  • Inform my superiors of our findings.

sort of business.

(maybe the continuation...)
