In Search of Truth: A Journey Through Perception
Searching for truth is a fascinating topic because the concept of truth can be very subjective to different individuals.
This is because each person has a unique perception of life. The truth holds different meanings and representations for someone living in a war-torn country compared to someone surrounded by wealth, food, and prosperity.
Everyone sees life differently and seeks or possesses their own truths. In my case, I wake up every day and greet myself with joy, allowing the truth of this new day to be more bearable and positive.
I believe that everyone should have this positive attitude to some extent.
I'm not encouraging self-help ideologies like those found in books by Pablo Cuello; instead, I believe that self-help is about seeking the truth within yourself, which will drive you towards achieving your goals and leading a better life.
It's those small or significant details that make a difference in your daily life—those moments that motivate you. When I greet myself in the mirror with a smile each morning, it immediately prepares me for having a good day and gives me the desire to move forward.
This motivation may seem unbelievable but trust me—it helps tremendously.
For example, I had a friend who was once prosperous—he frequented trendy bars surrounded by wealthy people and attractive individuals while wearing stylish clothes. However, one day he lost himself; he grew tired of living without purpose and decided to indulge but in an unhealthy way: drugs became his refuge.
Escaping from such an abyss is truly challenging—I speak from experience—but my strong willpower has always helped me overcome any situation in my life without fail.
My willpower combined with conviction made all the difference between his fate and mine—the friend I mentioned earlier.
After losing his prosperous position, he lost everything else too—his family saw him deteriorate before their eyes—they sold off the inheritance left by his mother: an apartment—and he ended up on the streets literally sleeping there exposed to harsh conditions.
He began to attract stray dogs and beg for food. Witnessing him in his tattered state during those early days on the streets was truly heartbreaking—a sight that left a deep psychological trauma.
He continued down this path for about 15 years, gradually worsening until finally two years ago, life on the streets took its toll—well, it was more like criminal activity because when you live on the streets, you are exposed to such things.
I know this because even after ten or twelve years of being homeless, we would sit together and have a beer or share a small bottle there on the street while he recounted his tales.
He told me how his belongings were stolen at night when he left his mat or blanket in a corner somewhere—a hill—and others who also lived on the streets would steal them. So I heard about all these sad situations.
My friends, this is another search for truth—he was perhaps seeking respite from all the struggles—from going from prosperity to misery—and for him, truth meant death.
Unfortunately, that's what happened two years ago; he was sent to fetch drugs in the neighborhood but destiny caught up with him and his truth became reality—the truth of wanting an exit from this world.
Each person is searching for their own truth—that's what I can tell you based on today's topic. Thank you for reading."
