A middle-income teacher and a wealthy businessman were very good neighbors to each other. Once they planted two plants in their backyard. The teacher used to give a moderate amount of water and fertilizer to the tree every day. But the businessman used to give extra amount of water and fertilizer every day so that his tree looked very fresh and beautiful. Suddenly one day storm came. The teacher's tree survived in the storm but the businessman's tree died.
The next day the businessman asked the teacher the reason for the death of the tree. The teacher said, I give my tree limited water, he learned how to make food when needed, but your tree was completely dependent on you. He had no will or ability to make food. So he could not survive.
In this story, the tree is like our child. We should give the child limited amount of affection and discipline. Then they can easily adapt to the social environment. On the other hand, neither extra discipline or extra affection brings happiness to the child. Rather, those who grow up with extra affection are more likely to become frustrated with danger.
