A strange journey

There are some events that come in our lives in which we would always remember or sometimes keep narrating the story. Then I might be right if I called it memorable moments in our lives.

There was a day while I was returning back to school for resumption. I had some cash on me while the rest was just in my bank account. My sister gave me an escort to the bus stop where I would board a commercial bus to my destination. I got there and asked for the price and then dropped my luggage and sat on the bus expecting more passengers so we kicked off while the bus seats were completed…

I never knew who the driver was until the bus was about to kick off then this strange man jumped into the driver's seat, looking so weird, his eyeballs were so red!! Had marks all around his arms, face, and neck, then had his face cap turned backward while he was on the bus engine…Wow! So this is the driver??. I asked myself. No option, maybe he is a good man inside of him and just had this strange behavior on the outside.

In no time the bus moved while I was sitting next to him in the front seat and a lady was also by my side, he did recommend the lady to use her seat belt and she did. But what about me??. I looked at both of them and thought to myself that I am in trouble today, no safety precautions for me, then I made up my mind that this would be the longest journey I ever traveled. LOL.

He was driving the bus like he had packed so many logs of wood in the bus. He kept on overtaking with his almost average working bus, every passenger was screaming at him to take it easy, some told him they have lives if he didn't have one.. and his response was he knew he was driving people that's why he is driving that way. He even told an elderly woman to shut her mouth up if not he would park and then she would be able to drop and board another bus. Then I thought to myself, Am I strong enough to handle death today??. I am still a young man who hasn't married or lived life to satisfaction... No no no!!. I continued to pray again. LOL

We got halfway through our journey then he changed again and started to drive at full speed. Then he picked a call and told the person he was on his way to drop the car for him so that the other driver would use the bus to have his own trip back again. Then I was like how would two drivers make us on a bus at intervals? I asked myself again LOL 😂😂🤣...

Just a few seconds more all I can see was the sky and heaven!!. What a scenario!!!. The bus had a brake failure then the driver had driven off the lane to hit another vehicle. Getting off the lane was another man standing by the roadside he had to prevent the bus from not hitting the man so he turned again to the roadside and on getting into the road again, there was another vehicle coming from behind he had to stir his wheel away again and this time around I was already halfway heaven and halfway alive. I couldn't do anything other than watching I didn't say a word till he hit the bus tyre to a bump hole the tyre got flattened, then he struggled to drive towards a tank and then hit the tank so the bus could stop. At this point, we were all on our way back from heaven. LOL

Everyone dropped after hitting him as they took their loads of buses and cursed on him. He couldn't say a word then he fixed another tyre without brake again. At this point, everyone had gone to find another bus and I was left alone. He asked why I was still waiting, then I said I don't have a penny on me to board another bus. He told me to get on the bus again, then I asked why he didn't give me money. Instead, he said he had no money on him either. I had no option but to get in again as we drove on with no brake till we got to the last bus stop and I could find my way home. It was a terrible experience I can never forget.

Since then I had promised myself to always ask of the driver who is taking us on the journey before entering the bus…
