All of our crops are Dead; Back to Zero
Good evening dreamers! How are you guys? I hope that you are safe right now!
Typhoon Paeng really cause a severe damages and casualties to different provinces. Though here in the place where I am, the rain also didn't stop since last night. It's a heavy rain actually. Also, it is a good thing that there's a pump here in our city because if not, for sure we already experience flood. Moreover, I keep myself updated from the news about the typhoon because of my family in the province which is Quezon. I didn't sleep last night because I waited for there replies on my messages. Fortunately, a friend of mine replied and said that there's no electricity on our area. She also said the rain is not too strong that night. So I'm a little bit relieved when she said that updates. After I force myself to sleep because it's already morning.
When I woke up, I immediately check my phone and my brother already replied on my messages. He said that the rain is non-stop and there is also a strong wind. Since there is so many trees, they didn't experience flood at all. But we both devastating when he said that all of our crops is dead. Meaning our capital money is also gone. He send a video how strong the wind is.
One of the greatest enemy of the farmers are the typhoons. We feel like that all of my brother's effort and our money was gone for nothing. We have bitter gourd , chili and sponge gourd that supposedly harvested on Monday but now, it was all wash out. What's more sad is that they just plant some rice grains last month and now, there is also a high possibility that it can't survive. Our whole rice field becomes a river because of the typhoon. In all, we lost for about Php. 30,000+. But what can we do? The typhoon is inevitable. I said to my brother that we can't do anything, we just try our next time. Now, we are back to zero as in from the scratch again. But we are still thankful because my family is safe there. Aside from that, I message some of my friends and most of them are safe. But one of our friend is in the evacuation center because there house is in the middle of the flood cause they are in low areas. We already send some help to her and we also keep updating each other how they are now.
The hashtag #PrayforPhilippines is trending right now since the whole country got affected by this typhoon. Some said that Paeng ruined the Philippines which is true based on the images I saw on the Facebook. It is so sad to scroll and seeing those dead body and places who is still in the high floods. They experience much worse than us. They are asking and shouting for help. I watched a clip that they are shouting because they are drowning. Most of us didn't expect that Paeng is so strong like this. Just now, I watched in the news that there's a possibility that the government declared a National State of Calamities because of the damages cause by the typhoon. I hope that this typhoon will leave now since it already cause damages not only in properties and crops but it also cause trauma and fear to everyone. Keep safe everyone!
