This experience of mine took place in the early 60s while living in my grandfather's house on Calle Real, Labo, Camarines Norte which is now known as Villaflores Street. Because I was born with a natural curiosity and interest in strange things and events, I went with my cousin and some children to play in the old school at Labo Elementary School not far from our grandfather's house.

Although I felt scared because of the ghost story in the old school called the Gabaldon building, I joined in the play that the children in the area do when the moon is full. The old building is made of wood not far from the opening of the wide yard of Labo Elementary School which was raised to the ground and was said to have been built during the American era.

"What if the ghost is there?" I asked a child with me who was my age.

"We will not run away quickly and you will never be left behind", he replied to me.

"Why?" I asked worried because of the horror stories I heard in the old building we were playing with.

"The ghost will imprison you at school, you will not be released", replied the person I was talking to in a speech tone, intimidating.

Even though I felt scared because I had in mind the ghost story in the old Gabaldon building, I was participating in a hide-and-seek game that was very popular back then and was a favorite toy of children during the full moon. According to the stories, the ghost makes noise in the old school such as wailing, crashing inside the building and noise with a chain link.

In the building, we came across some children playing hide-and-seek so we decided to watch them play in the building dreaded believing in ghosts because some people had died and Japanese soldiers during World War II. Because the building is very old, a child is able to enter the classroom by passing through the broken part of the wooden wall to hide there.

"When their game is over, we will play", said our roommate like me and the rest of us, in the corridor of the old Gabaldon building.

But our plan to play did not go ahead because a child was crying while inside one of the three rooms of the old building and hiding. And along with the loud crying of the boy in the group we were playing with, he quickly slipped through the broken part of the wall and was told that a ghost had hugged him inside the old school.

After the child's story, there was a loud bang inside the school that signaled the fear of all the children running out and away from the old Gabaldon building. Currently, the old building is gone because it has been replaced by a building made of stone, sand and cement but I still remember what happened and whether or not the ghost in the Gabaldon building is true, I do not know, I know the big one is true fear engulfed me.

I have a belief that every writer eventually finds their voice as a writer. We start out in this beautiful moment where everything is possible. As newbies, we’re in it for the stories — not for the complexities of the market. Every good story starts with a spark of inspiration, an idea. What matters to the new writer is not who is going to read that thing, but instead crafting that idea into something people will want to read. Marky stories are not only for children, but adult may want to read this also as if the stories have love, fiction, epic and many more, I'm not only focusing in one theme, because every day, readers want something new, something that is not published before.
