Sing Movie Review
I always love Disney movies. I think that they always tend to have a unique style that brings a new experience to the audience. With other animation studios, I always criticize if they are somewhat alike with Disney or better than it. Although, I'm not supposed to compare different studios, competition in the market it always a talk and an issue. So when a new movie comes from another studio, it always attracts me to watch it.
I just watched Sing the day before yesterday during my uncle's birthday celebration at their house. When I first saw it, it was mesmerizing. The voice actors did a really good job when it comes to their characters. The voice actor of Johnny the gorilla, Taron Eagerton was amazing. His voice is angelic at its best. When he sang in the movie, it was a definition of perfect. But the most surprising voice for me was Meena's, the elephant. When she sang Happy Birthday to her grandfather, it was so peaceful to hear that you just want her to sing it all over again. Her rendition of the song Hallelujah, which I first heard on Shrek and love it there, made me love the song even more. Though I was not surpised because the voice behind it was the singer Tori Kelly. I am not a big fan of her, neither her songs, but the movie told me otherwise. Scarlett Johansson also shocked me in the movie. She voiced the character of Ash. I never thought of her as a singer but she did an amazingly shocking job. The part when she was singing and crying at the same time was kind of funny by the way.
This is the kind of movie that fits in with the kids. I like the impact of it to my younger brother. He started liking the movie and it was on repeat ever since. He even started to sing songs and even play the ukulele.
The movie also made a lot of moral lessons for younger people and dreamers out there. Lessons like to never give uo in your dreams, in order for big things to happen, you have to make big sacrifices and to never stop on your goals. As what Buster Moon said, "Dream big dreams."
