Drawings

8-year-old Richard just got home from school. His mother was in the kitchen, preparing him a snack. He wanted to play video games because his friend, Tom, said that he will online when he got home but then Richard’s mom told him to finish his home works first. Irritated, he went upstairs to get his things before going back to the kitchen so his mother can see.

One of his home works is to draw their dream house after graduating in college. He already has a picture of what his house will look like so he draws it immediately. He then showed it to his mom and his mom was amazed by it. But then Richard added that he still want to put some colors in it. His mom told him that there are crayons in the closet near the stairs so he went on it to get some. As he found a box full of crayons, some papers fell down the floor. The papers had drawings on them that he was sure that he never drew before since he doesn’t really like drawing. He is the only child so it’s impossible for his parents to draw these things.

He quickly picked the papers up and went back to the kitchen. He wanted to show and ask his mother about the drawings but the phone rang. His mom went to the living to answer to phone. Curious to what the drawings were, he then looked at it one by one.

The first paper had the drawing of a family composed of a father, a mother, 2 brothers and a little sister. All family members were colored in red and are holding on to each other. The next paper is the family eating on the table with black background, even if there is a light bulb drew on top of the paper. Another paper has the family holding on to, Richard thinks are prison bars. But the next paper was the most terrifying. There was no drawing but a text was written.

“HELP US”

He was scared to see the text but he kept on looking at the other papers hoping for a clear explanation. The next papers were not saying a clear thing, as it said in each paper, “WALLS”, “WE”, “IN”, “LIVE”, “PLEASE”, “YOUR”. He was unsure what the papers are saying so he then looked at it once again.

He then placed the paper on the table one by one. Arrange them. And finally he got the message.

“WE LIVE IN YOUR WALLS PLEASE HELP US.”

He was shocked and took a step back from the table. He then shouted for his mother to hear him. His mom then quickly got to the kitchen and was shocked to see the papers as well. Tears on Richard’s eyes were starting to form as he felt scared at the moment.

There was a shout in the back from them. Richard and his mom slowly turned around to look at the walls near the staircase. There were scratches on the walls and blood on them. The lights then went off that made both of them screamed. The doors and windows started to close. His dad was not in the house so they don’t have anyone to call for help. Glasses and plates were taken off from their cabinets and were shattered on the floor. Creeks on the floor are heard everywhere. They run to the door but they can’t open it.

His mother then shouted, “What do you want from us?!”

The lights then went back on. Silence was heard everywhere. Then the wall from their kitchen had made a text for them to read.

“KILL HIM.”

They were both confused of what was written on the wall. They don’t know what the family are saying to them. Then Richard heard his father, Tim, going in and seeing them both shocked.

“What happened? Are we robbed?” – Tim

“Tim, what did you do?” – Richard’s mom

Richard’s dad was also confused to what his mother said. Until Tim saw the papers on the floor and family. He then confessed everything.

“I’m sorry. I just wanted us to have a good house. I didn’t want to live in that small apartment.” – Tim

“Dad, what do you mean?” – Richard

“I’m sorry Chard, I’m sorry honey. I killed them. I killed the family in here to get this house for a low price. I’m sorry.”

Richard and his mom were in shock to what Tim had said. Then Tim felt hurt on his dead that made him shout so loud. Richard wanted to run but he and his mother was thrown outside. The doors then went shut and a loud noise was head from inside.

They both run to open the door but it can’t be opened.

Richard’s mom then got a big wood to smash the door open. When they opened it, they found Tim with opened eyes and his throat slashed, lying on the ground.
