1 Peter 3:3-4

"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight."

This bible verse gives me a different way of defining beauty. Usually when we hear the word beauty the first thing that comes to our mind is the physical appearance of a person and the material things. The way she/he looks, how beautiful is his/her dress and hair. How expensive their shoes, bags or cars, right? and we forget that beauty is not only about looks. They all fade, expire or disappear.

The true meaning of beauty is what you have inside. Try to look at your inner self and will see the beauty that was there and you never notice it. This is what matters the most. The beauty you have inside is something that will never fade nor disappear. No one can get that from you.

What is inner beauty? Let me give an example of it. When you fall in love with a person’s personality, it is way stronger than falling in love with just a face. This is where we admit that making ourselves beautiful on the inside has a lot more effect than on the outside. Get it? So it's not just about looks. How would say a lady with a nice makeup but doesn't know how give respect to elders. A man with cute dimples when he smiles but keeps on bullying his friends. A super model with a Ferrari but keeps on violating traffic rules. Did you the beauty from those examples? None right?

It’s time for us to take off our masks and show the world who we really are. God uniquely created each one of us. We may look different to one another but God gave us all the kind of beauty that we deserve. We just need to know how to show it to others.
