I don't smoke. I tried it once in high school because many of my friends were smokers and likely still are. Despite laws in some areas of the world about smoking in public, many do so anyway.
Not only does cigarette smoke gets in your eyes, it remains in your clothing, adversely affects your taste buds, but in stays in your handbag and especially your lungs.
Banned?
I am not one for banning most anything. The reason why is that once something is banned, the "ban" police (as it were) are ever on a quest to ban something else.
Pastor Martin Niemöller was a German Lutheran pastor after serving as submarine commander.
Then he had a change of heart. Maybe it was the horrors of war, but it's only a guess on my part.. He is attributed to now famous quote, a poem of sorts entitled "First They Came."
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
The Pastor
Certainly he was not referring to smoking but rather people idly standing by as moral atrocities were taking place.
But back to smoking et cetera.
The woke moral police
Nowadays there are people (woke activists) who want to ban Christmas, prayer, guns, smoking, what they refer to "hate speech, and more. These moral police certainly have a right to free speech, as long as it on their terms.
In other words, anything they don'r agree with should be banned.
Cigarettes
It used to be that if someone was smoking nearby and you asked them to move away, they did so. Not anymore. Instead, they snarl, hiss, curse, and tell you to mind your own business.
According to the CDC, cigarette smoking is the leading cause of preventable death in the United States. I can imagine it's pretty much the same everywhere.
Dangers of smoking
Cigarettes case lung damage, heart disease, fertility problems, risk of pregnancy complications, risk of type 2 diabetes, a weakened immune system, vision problems, poor oral hygiene, unhealthy skin and hair, and risk of other cancers.

Now count me a s a freedom loving person as long as they do not harm others. Again, I don't desire to ban smoking, Alcohol or whatever, But as a Christian I care about your health so do your loved ones.
I encourage you to stop smoking because it does more than get smoke in your eyes.
I won't lie; I still smoke. I'll try those smokeless things. Thanks.
