This city of horizons was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved Begum Mumtaz Mahal. So when Begum passed away from this world, the king started the construction work of Taj Mahal. Highly skilled engineers were assigned to this work. White marble stones, black stone, red stone and precious jewels. An Italian artist drew up a map of the Taj Mahal. 22,000 workers embarked on the expedition and worked on its construction for 22 years. Arrived
The Taj Mahal is one of the finest examples of Mughal architecture and the most beautiful tomb in the world.
The architecture of the Taj Mahal is different from that of Akbar's buildings. Akbar used red marble while Shah Jahan used marble Marqa. One is an epic and the other is a romance. The famous Indian scholar blew away the diamond Koh-i-Noor Aghiar which eventually became the adornment of the British crown. Now the existence of the Taj Mahal is a booty to be proud and it is our priceless national heritage.
