A Short Introduction

Before anything else and before proceeding to my first ever feature article, I would like first to introduce myself. Call me by the name Mahika, a person who has a passion for writing and a person who finds magic in each article. A friend introduced this platform to me, and I have learned first the basics before making an article.

To anyone who is reading this post of mine, I hope you are having a good day. I do hope that you won't get bored in reading this article and to my future articles, and I do hope that if ever you found this article interesting just by reading this introduction, I hope for the best and to start giving me support as I travel with you in this platform.

 Without so much ado, I want to present you a quote from Davide Lo Vetere, The Journey of the Self, which goes like this:

"A journey is a journey. Nothing dictates that first, you have to climb a mountain and then explore a forest."

Jessica Zafra: Her Twisted Life

When someone quick-witted person appears in front of you, will you get the chance to get to know about her?

Jessica Zafra completed her primary education at St. Therese College in Quezon City, graduated at the Main Campus of Philippine Science High School for her secondary education, and finished her degree at the University of the Philippines, majoring in Comparative Literature.

Irony and cynicism are her main elements.

She is a fiction writer, editor, columnist, publisher, and former television and radio show host. She revealed she has a fair number of sunglasses, but it fails to dominate the excellent thoughts spinning in her head. She’s like an encyclopedia with too many clever ideas and could make the world spin with her writings. 

She used to write a column, but she stopped in 2016. She wrote a weekly column for TV5’s Interaksyon online news site. Her last column came out in October 2016. Jessica had also been a part of the Flip Magazine as the Editor-in-Chief. The New Yorker, Newsweek, and the Hong Kong Standard are some of the magazines featured in her essays. 

She works with her co-host Pepe Diokno on a travel show, The Flip Trip, CNN Philippines on the present.

Jessica is also spending her time composing her second novel. The first one was completed in 2016, The Age of Umbrage, which is available at Shopee, Lazada, Mt Cloud Bookshop, and soon at Fully Booked, online and at its branches, according to JessicaRulestheUniverse.com

Avid fans of Jessica Zafra are gratified in her Twisted Series, a compilation of her essays as a columnist for a newspaper known before as Today, now called Manila Standard Today. She began with the series in 1994, and the first book was published in the following year. Other than the eight books she wrote for the Twisted Series, Jessica also wrote the books Chicken Pox for the Soul, Manananggal Terrorizes Manila: & Other Stories, 500 People You Meet in Hell, as well as Womenagerie and Other Tales from the Front, Fruitcake, Planet of the Twisted, among others.

Except for her passionate personality, she cracks her selfless heart and shares her impeccable talent by leading a writing workshop three or four times a year.

“If you tell her anything personal about yourself she will remember it, so be warned,” an odd remnant from Jessica Zafra’s blog justly expresses her features and eccentric passions. She will continue to give voice to her rhetorics, complains, and recollects as she overcomes her twisted life.

Closing Remarks

She is not just an ordinary person; she is one of a kind. She deserves all of her achievements in life. The world may continue to be affected by earthquakes of change, and she may also continue thriving as she moves forward while giving us an experience of a life full of twists with her books and writings, among others.
