Address Your Thoughts Effectively
Recently I was talking with a very close friend and she was trying to explain to me how she was feeling sad but nothing bad has happened, like she just got conscious to the fact that her mood wasn't right yet she doesn't know any obvious reason for that because nothing bad happened. Well something has to be the cause, just as a law of motion that express that a body would stay at rest unless an external force is acting upon it, similarly your thoughts wouldn't switch from good to bad or vice versa unless something has propelled it to, and more often this propellers are from our thoughts.
If you really want to feel good then you think good, if you want to feel sad then you think sad, the mind can generate it's own atmosphere with just thinking at a particular direction, imagine watching a movie, lets say the movie expresses a character that tackles difficult situations, trying to portray that he is very intelligent and find a way through everything, loving this movie does something to you, you immediately see your self in that position and feel you're smart enough to tackle obstacles, even if you were getting things wrong, then you wouldn't see your shortcomings and you feel like you're as good as you just saw, and all your aura depicts confidence.
Such person can walk on the street feeling like Kyle xy, I can recollect the numerous times I felt like I can take on anyone simply because I just saw a Jackie chan movie, I just thank my stars that I didn't jump off a building after seeing the spiderman movie, all I'm saying is this, because we have seen something and it captures our attention we dwell on it, the longer time we spend dwelling on such things increases the chances of it affecting our mood, so nothing really happens from nothing, if you can't any possible reasons as to my your mood is the way it is currently, then you might just need to reflect on what you might have seen.
One occurence that often propels a bad mood especially in this age of social media is when you're reminded of someone or something you really don't like or you don't feel good about. Imagine not liking someone, someone that gets you upset to your stomach and then you see their post of them having a nice time, automatically unless you want to act fake you'll feel bad, and if you can't take it off your mind real quick you might see it changing your mood and you might not remember that was the cause because you saw it few days or hour ago. Many other reasons to this also.
Guide your thoughts, address your thoughts, think on your thoughts, to a large extent it helps, truthfully how it helps us reevaluate ourselves, imagine noticing you're jealous, of course jealousy is normal and it's one of the common mood changer, and since it's you alone to your thought then there is no need denying it, you'll see clearly that you're jealous and you would easily find your way to correct that. See reasons why you shouldn't feel that kind of way and it's mostly be seeing your own advantages and raise your self esteem, boom you're back and better, you've just tuned back your mood by addressing your thoughts.
Intentionally going for good funtime is nice, you'll need such memories to keep you smiling soon, the more good time we can experience, the more good memories we store and this in turn would assist in our mood adjustments. Often time I hear of mood swings, especially the ladies, yes the ladies often talk on mood swings and we are gradually accepting it as a society norm, I really don't know if there are any biological reason for that, maybe they were created and something is resident in the females to constantly cause mood swing, I would I've said it should be during their menstrual circle but that's not it, even when all is fine some still have this swing, men also have it too.
So I'm picking memories over any biological reasons, there is something they got reminder about and this is the reason for the frequent mood swings, because life comes with its own challenges then I can confidently say everyone has got their own mood swings at one time or the other, and some can't even think that its because they just remembered something that happen 2 years ago or way beyond that, the longer they ponder on it the longer it'll influence their mood, and this mood in turn influences our response to the present, and that's why we've got to be careful, so we don't use the past to stain the present or even the future.
In my more recent article I express why we need learn, more like we were created to learn and with that we should see that there are more to us than we are conscious about, and so we need to constantly learn how to be our best self, knowing how to seize control of your thoughts and mood alike would definitely help in your dealing with life matters, some times we don't need our sad moments to interfere with that million dollar business transaction, and some times we don't need our good mood and over excitement to make us disrespected, so there is a right mood for an occasion, we need to be in charge of our mood per time.
