Do you have a best friend or a special friend? The one who is always willing to reach you and be your friend any time anywhere.

Sometimes you meet a person and you just click—you’re comfortable with them, like you’ve known them your whole life, and you don’t have to pretend to be anyone or anything.

Yes, I have a friend not my best friend but just a normal friend. He was my colleague before and younger than me. We get along easily even if he is the aloft and silent type. Yes, you will seldom hear his voice. If you started a conversation, for sure you will get bored because he only speak, yes, really? true? no. Some answers with just a word or two or just a grin and laugh from him.

Being just like him when I was young, I understand why he is like that. He never opens up and often our superior always ask about him. When he is ask, he will just answer straight to the point and nothing more. Though his identity is only limited. He never talks about family and more. So one time, we happen to have a small conversation during breaktime. I ask him about his parents, siblings and he answers. Huh? Really, he tells me.

From then we talk a lot about everything. No limits of topic as long as we have such for our conversation. He opens up about his life and I just listen. He do tells a lot and he is not the silent type when were together thus our colleagues back then slowly enjoying being him in some gatherings. But what makes me like him as a friend and different from the rest is he never turn his back on me. He always give a hand even if I did not ask. He always extend some help if he feels I need one even if I never told him. He was a special friend to me.

However, we separated from work as he became a designer on automations design. He is good at that matter, so when the department needs one he was highly recommended. From then, we seldom talk personally but we keep in touch online. I do check on him sometimes because I know he needs it too. Being far from his family is not easy too. But what I really want to thank him is for being there when I need a friend to talk too. Even if it means cutting his online gaming time just to talk to me, it doesn't matter. He is always one call away and my friend will always have some time for me.

Closing Thoughts

Having a friend, a real and true one doesn't mean he is your best friend and closest friend. It is someone who find comfort with and shares with you how to have such friend who seems to be your sibling already and never judge you. Instead listen and gives advices and help you walk in the dark to see the light ahead then. It is so worth it having him my friend for life and I thank God for giving me one.
