Lucky we are by chance today.

It was a gloomy Friday morning after we went out from work. Since it has been raining all night, the roads seems so messy with rainwaters and mud. Hubby promised to fetch me and yes he did. We went home walking like what we usually do and at the same time a morning exercise too.

Today, we planned to visit our colleague's wake. We planned to ride on the car of one of our colleague and some of the production operators will have to ride their own motorcycle and multicab. So as soon as we reached home, we prepare for breakfast so hubby and I will have breakfast together with the kids. Hubby wants to go with me since he is a friend too to our colleague.

By 8 in the morning, my messenger flooded with messages from different colleagues. The other groups was calling out for their service whose contact is not responding so they ask me if I can call her. Also hubby and I already prepared since my colleague sends a go signal that he will soon fetch us in a few minutes. After calling my other colleague, I inform the others that their transportation is on its way then we just have to leave earlier than them.

The journey is quite long since we have to passed by about two municipalities from our place. It is a great time since no other visitors yet and we got chance to talk to the bereaved wife for a long time. We got to ask some questions and other speculations on how our colleague passed away too fast.

It is painful and gladness that I've felt with I saw him lay down calmly sleeping inside. His face was at ease and a bit happy. He really rest peacefully now.

We took some time to chitchat and reminisce his kindness, the way he treats us equally and how dedicated he is to his work. We are gathered infront of him not to cry but to remember always him as part of our lives. Then I cut it off so we can leave the soonest because the dark clouds got thicker and the rain seem to come any time soon.

Then without hesitations, the bereaved family never stops us because they know we have to rest as well for our nightshift work later.

As we start our journey home, the rain really downpour heavily. The roads seems to have a zero visibility in a few minutes. We are too worried because some of our colleagues get soaked of the downpour. However, they never stop and so we all continue our journey since we are still too far.

Then as we are about to enter our municipalities, there were no trace of rainwaters and we are shocked to see the very hot weather as we arrive home. Thanks to our colleague who owns this car. He never hesitate to give us a ride with them anytime if we need too.

Though after we took some rest at home, the weather change very fast and the heavy downpour was feel too in our place. We are happy because we got home before the downpour and no hassle. I got a good sleep then because of the weather. But later as I wake up, I learned that the municipality we passed by was flooded. The road seem not passable to light vehicles and so we are too lucky on a friday.

Closing Thoughts

We are lucky to visit our colleague's wake smoothly and no hassle. We went home too as early as planned. Everything seem to go so right just like we are not stranded with the flooded roads. Seeing the news last night of flooded streets in Cebu and other places is so alarming. Just like seeing the news too that the road we just passed an hour ago gets flooded and not passable then as the rain continues. We know our colleague ask God to sent some angels to guide us to have a safe travel back home. Thus we are all lucky today.
