Always be good to your shadow. "Doing good to others is not a duty". If you do good today, you don't know what you have gained, you will be happy with yourself and you would keep smiling whenever you remember the good you have done to someone. Many people don't want to be good to others because of different reasons; many people have been hurt, many have been betrayed, many were not appreciated, many have been forgotten because of the good deeds they did to someone. These reasons have made many people vow never to help anyone again in their life. It doesn't matter what your reasons are, being good is not by force, it comes from the heart.
If you do good, it's like planting a seed and when it comes from your heart, it's like making the seed germinate. Don't mind what people say when you are doing good to someone, some people would not be in support of you when you are doing good, some will be in support but you have to know that it is not everybody that will follow the opinion of another person. The world is not satisfied you should know, if you do bad, they would criticize you, if you do good, they would still condemn you but do what you know is right.
If you promise someone that will you help him/her to do something, you should endeavour to keep to that promise and do more. You shouldn't promise someone for fun, if you know you can't do it for the person, go to the person and tell the person to his face that you can't do it instead of wasting the person's time. It's not a good thing if you say that you would help someone and at the end, you turned your back at the person. The person whom you turned your back at, came to you because he has trusted you with his problem and is looking up to you but the moment you turned your back at the person after flattering him, you have done what could kill the person.
It pays to be good. Even if you think that being good is a waste of time, it's not, because the magic is that it makes you healthy and happy, just try being good. If you have vowed never to be good for one reason or the other, that is not the end of life, help more people and see what happens to you. If you think you were not appreciated by someone you helped, don't worry, if you help more people you will see the wonders. Some people can never be forgotten today because of the little help they offered to someone, some people are great today because of this same good deeds, some people have received blessings for being good, sometimes the blessing might be through their children or might come in any way. You may think you have been helping people and nothing is coming out of it, it might not come the way you expected it, but good things would happen to you too.
It is good to be good I must say. "Be a rainbow in someone's cloud", so don't be the cause of tears to someone but be a reason that you would never be forgotten even after you die.
Doing good is worthwhile, do good and leave a mark on the world.
