I recently came across a meme with the caption "I wonder what the motivational speaker told the monkey". The meme depicted a monkey holding a stick and apparently gallantly challenging an adult male lion. Although the photo may have been photo shopped to bring both characters together, it is clear what the likely outcome of the encounter would be and who would emerge the victor. I love listening to motivational speakers but some comedians or would I dare say con artists have now invaded the space to delude people with their impossible stories of how they rose from zero to unimaginable wealth or achievements while feeding off the clicks and likes from their social media channels from their unsuspecting subscribers. These con artists do a lot of disservice to the genuine motivational speakers out there who continue to inspire people to do great things.
There are things that are simply impossible like the monkey in our meme emerging victorious against the lion. So if that person who claims to be a motivational speaker is charging you to undertake a task similar to what our monkey friend was attempting to do, my advise is to flee for your dear life else you end up with disappointment and heart break at the end of the day. I am very sure that genuine motivational speakers although inspiring us to push ourselves to our limits will also acknowledge that in life some things are simply impossible under certain circumstances.
Any speaker has the freedom to say whatever he or she likes but the decision on how to apply what has been said to real world situations in your life ultimately lies in your hands, so act wisely.
