Do not be mislead by the title, the characters I am about to write about are not fictional characters from a science fiction movie who crossed creatures or combined genetic code of animals with humans to create a creature with super human abilities. Rather they are men who worked tirelessly in their various fields and contributed immensely towards the body of knowledge in those areas. Some of their inventions and contribution still remain relevant till this day. Their fields of endeavour ranged from astronomy to mathematics.
Unfortunately, today they and their achievements or contributions receive little or no mention. In fact the mention of their names may sound strange to many. These articles are inspired by the documentary series by Prof. Jim Al-Khalili of the same title .
I do hope you would have learnt a thing or two about these noble men who contributed in no small way to shaping the future of humanity by the time I am done with the series.
