Verily the moment one dies, his judgement begins.
A close brother lost his mother and she was committed to the earth today. May Allah forgive her, overlook her shortcomings and grant her paradise. When I arrived at the Masjid close to their residence, brothers who were around expressed shock at the incident. They narrated how they had been chatting with her children late last night only for the news of her death to be broken that same night. The time between when the brother posted that his mother had been rushed to the hospital and her eventual passing was just a few minutes apart.
Death can come at any time and anyone may be the next to answer the call, it could either be me or you. I never had the privilege of getting to know my brother's mother very well but the things I heard about her today while waiting for the funeral prayer gladdened me. I will mention just two.
One brother remarked that Alhamdulillah Iya (mother) had observed her Salatu Isha before Allah called her and he was thankful that she was not owing that obligation to Allah. What would have been her fate if she had unnecessarily delayed the prayer and Allah called her with the prayer still unobserved. Allah knows best.
Another brother observed that he had known her for over 15 years and had never seen her wear a grown on her face. Allahu akbar. What a Muslimah. For some of us our own case may be that what people take note of is the number of times they have ever seen us smile. May Allah rectify our affairs.
I want us to reflect on these two remarks and made amends where necessary. Never be lax with or delay any obligation to Allah for no just reason and always try to be an embodiment of the true message of our religion , for as someone remarked people are not ready to read the Quran or he Hadith but they are ready to read us, the Muslims.
May Allah return us to Himself when we are best practising the religion and make us steadfast on His path. This write up is an admonition first to me and then to you.
Thanks for sharing, May God hear your desires. God bless you. Regards.
