Be like the fruit tree

As a young child I believe that at one point or another you may have encountered a fruit tree bearing that fruit that you simply couldn't resist. You also probably looked for a stick or any other object that you could hurl at the tree so that you could knock the fruits off. In a literal sense, you threw objects at the tree, while the tree gave you it's fruits in return even though the object you threw at it might have hurt it in one way or another.

Try to be like that tree in your interactions with people because just as objects were thrown at the fruit tree, people may exhibit hurtful actions or say hurtful things to you. Their Ill actions or words should not stop you from doing what is right irrespective of their manners. Two wrongs they say cannot make a right. Do not respond with evil to evil or wrongdoing, rather respond with goodness or courteousness. This is the right thing to do, perhaps your reaction may be the catalyst or trigger that ill mannered individual needs to have a change of heart.

Being like the fruit tree is no easy task as it demands patience and perseverance. But in the end the result is worth it, for surely the reward for goodness is nothing but goodness.

Your article reminds me of a verse in the Gospel where Jesus says if they hit you on the cheek On the other cheek, for me it means if they hurt you, respond with kindness.
