What's Next?
Have you ever thought about the things that you wanted to achieve in life?
How about the steps you're going to take in order to have your dreams and goals in the grasp of your hand?
Have you ever wondered what's next after all those things?
These questions will help you to evaluate your life today. You might still be a student, a regular employee, a wife, a mother or any other profession but one thing's for sure, you will always have a goal to hit and a future to look forward to.
As a young professional, I realized how easygoing was the life that I lived before. When I was a student, I don't have any responsibility aside from studying. I don't have any friends so it's easy to focus in my studies. My parents has no expectations about me and my siblings when it comes to our studies which might have contributed to the reason why we are all part of the Top 5 of our classes.
I only ask for allowance and make sure that I don't do anything bad that will lead my parents to come to the guidance office of our school. After graduation, I entered the college life and there's really nothing much to say about it aside from it's too stressful with the different exams, thesis and money needed for my studies. My brother was really kind to help me and sister in our studies.
There are things that you can only learn once you are already in real life battle which are never taught at school. You are not taught about money management, stocks market or even the reality that your degree is not an express pass to success.
Many people will tell you that when you graduate, employers will.go after you or that love life will be a lot easier to have. They will also tell you that once you have been employed, the first 3-5 years will show you success.
Guess what, none of those are true. You will graduate, apply for vacant job positions and get rejected multiple times and still have the difficulty to figure out your life. You will see you classmates, friends and batch mates living the life of success and feel as though you are left behind.
You will be in debt for quite a while and after getting hired, your salary for the first 3-5 months will be used for paying your debts. You will want to buy branded clothes, bags, accessories, you will want to travel and dine out to the restaurants you haven't eaten at but reality will hit you that things will never be as easy as that.
You might be thinking that after working and saving up you can afford a new house and lot in a village or subdivision and even have the chance and opportunity to finally be financially stable but things aren't as easy as that. You will experience the lost of interest in many things and lack of motivation to continue what you're doing.
You will get frustrated and feel left behind. The dreams you made will never be as easy as one two three to reach. You will cry, be sad, and you will also have moments when you just simply wanted to give up. But you are strong, resilient and persevering. You will not let those things beat you up.
You will stand tall and amidst the adversary you're facing you will continue doing the things you're good at. You will cry when you're sad. You will get tired but you will never quit. You will one day wake up and see that these are things you have always longed to have. You finally have it and you're finally living the dream you have always wanted to have.
