Strong women are for strong men. A weak man cannot handle a strong woman. He'll find different excuses just so he can justify his act of leaving the woman or stopping his courtship with her.
A woman is not a conquest to conquer. She is a woman with emotions and she can provide her needs. When a woman decides on something, people often mistaken it as an act out of impulse. There is a stigma that a woman must become submissive to the husband and she must stay at home to take care of her family but that isn't the case anymore.
Nowadays, a woman can become both a mother, wife and a career woman. She can balance everything and once she decides on something, she's sure about it.
Being a mother is both a privilege and a responsibility.
When a woman becomes a mother, her physical appearance changes. It must undergo changes in order to accommodate the life that is starting to grow inside her. She has to be healthy for both her and her baby.
She will undergo a painful delivery of the baby. After giving birth, her responsibilities doesn't end there. She still has to nurse the child and keep herself in check.
Postpartum depression is common for women who has just given birth. It can take up to weeks or even years. She has to be strong not just because she has to but because she needed to.
She has to sacrifice a lot of things. Her figure, her lifestyle before getting married, and most of all her career. She has to go through a tough process to become a mother for her child.
Her clothes before giving birth might not have fit her after giving birth. Her sleeping routine might not have been the same. She has to stay awake round the clock to nurse her baby. She has to eat fast and take a bath fast in order to look after the baby. She needs to sleep as much as she can when the baby is sleeping. She still has house chores to do. She has a husband to serve and a baby to keep an eye on.
Being a parent is never easy but it's always worth it.
Never ending care for the baby. A mother, no matter how tired she is has to wake up if ever the baby cries. She will check the diaper of the baby, feed the baby (either by formula milk, breast milk or both). She'll have to bath the baby and continuously keep an eye on the baby.
She has to do this alone especially if the husband has to go to work.
Even when the baby has grown her responsibilities as mom doesn't stop there. A mother is will always see her child as his precious little baby no matter how old he has grown.
Maternal care is not limited with age or with social status. A mom will always be a mom no matter whom her child has become.
A mother is always present when her child is sick. She is the number one supporter of her child and a never ending source of hope that no matter what happens, a mother is always there for her child.
A mother will always have open arms to accept her child. Even if the world hates you your mother will always be there to love and protect you.
Never ending house work. A mother will always be a mother. Her job description is not limited in taking care of the kids. She still has a lot of houseworks.
A mother does the cleaning, cooking, laundry, washing the dishes, ironing clothes, teaching kids as young as two years old about basics and so much more.
Many people say that a woman must know these things before getting married, but a woman must not be subjected to this. Both woman and man can run the household. They can both provide for the family needs. Both can discipline their children and do houseworks.
A mother's work isn't just about being a mother, it's also about running a whole household.
Career and family. Career and family can be balanced. A mom can do housechores, take care of her child and husband, as well as have her own career. Many women has already proven that this is indeed possible.
Why choose one, when you can do both?
If there's a will, there's a way.
Many mom's out there are both moms and career women. They have good time management and they prioritize which is more important. No matter what happens, at the end if the day, it's your choice to make. Will you do both? Or will you give up one and do the other.
Teenage moms. This might not have been everyone's cup of tea but it's part of this article because it's important. Teenage moms are not yet ready to take on a huge responsibility of being a full time mother. Her body is not yet fully developed to carry a child. Her mind is not yet prepared to take on a lifetime duty.
There was photo of a thirteen year old girl who has happily flexing her pregnancy on facebook.
"It's much better to become a teenage mom, at least I did not abort my baby." - Quote unquote
This kind of mindset is saddening. Yes, you did not abort your child, but how can you sustain both of your needs if you yourself aren't prepared? Who will take care of your child? Your parents?
You can never get anything from premarital sex. Sex is a sacred gift from God given to people in order to procreate. It must not be done by just any couple who wants to try and do it. This world might have changed a lot but at least think twice before committing to it.
Imagine a thirteen year old carrying a baby in her womb and nursing it after giving birth. A thirteen year old who still has a lot of things yet to achieve and experience but it has been hindered due to premarital sex.
The baby has no sin, but the mother should have known better than to give herself to someone who can't even provide for her and her baby's needs. A thirteen year old must study hard and enjoy life. She must enjoy being a young lady and experience different luxuries of life.
Please be responsible enough and do not allow your emotions to overpower your rationality.
***This is not to judge or condone anyone. This is a reminder that people should be responsible enough before committing any action. It's not just about the teenage mom anymore. This is also bout the baby whom she'll have to support and take care of for the rest of her life.
Being a mother is a job which has no day offs, no leaves, and no salary.
It is never easy but always worth it.
Not every woman is given the chance to give birth to their own child. Some has to take another measure in order to have a child, but nevertheless, a mother is a mother and she will always stay that way. But please be reminded that your actions today affects your baby tomorrow.
To all the teenage moms out there, please know that no matter what you're going through right now, you are always guided and loved by God from above.
