The department meeting

I was chatting with my head yesterday when she told me that we are going to have a department meeting at 10 a.m. today. I did not prepare that much since I have a lot of things to do and accomplish for the day. The meeting started at exactly 10 a.m. and ended at around 12:47 p.m.

I ate while the meeting was still on going since I can't go hungry or I'll vomit due to GERD. There were a lot of announcements and things to consider since the upcoming school year will be on full face to face. Our school decided to have a 5 day face to face classes starting August 22.

It is a good thing since it'll be easier for teachers to assess the students whether they are learning or not. Aside from that, the students will also have the opportunity to develop their interpersonal skills which will help in further developing their character.

In my opinion, it will make things a little easier for me. I don't have to wait for late quizzes, activities and outputs since I can remind the students on a daily basis as we'll see each other often. It will not require me to stay on my laptops until 12 midnight or even until 2 a.m. just to finish checking their unfurnished outputs. I'm also planning to incorporate all the teaching strategies I was doing when I was still teaching in private school.

I somehow missed designing and cleaning a classroom as well as handing out chips, and checking papers which I can record and give back to the students right away. I'm also excited to go on to this new journey in my career since face to face classes is what I'm used to.

As we go on the meeting, the grade levels that we will handle were also announced. I will now teach Grade 7 students who are far more obedient and sweeter than the higher level. Aside from that, my head told me that they decided to put me in Grade 7 because of my passion for teaching which is badly needed by Grade 7 students.

If I don't know the real reason why she demoted me to Grade 7, I would definitely be happy with the compliment, but knowing that she doesn't want to work with me anymore, as per her own words, it made me feel sad and relived at the same time. I wouldn't have to meet her often as she is not the Grade 7 coordinator.

I'm also the type of person who doesn't stop not unless I've reached my goals. No matter how difficult it is, I always make sure that I do my best. I guess it's that personality of mine which made them hate my guts and attitude. Anyways, I'm just glad that this time, I'll only handle on year level. One preparation, one goal and one purpose. Things will definitely become better in the future.

I also have a lot of plans even before the next school year starts.

And if you're wondering why other teachers are asking for the delay of the upcoming school year, the reason for that is very simple. We don't have a vacation. As of now I still have a lot of paperwork to do. I tried to do it earlier today but I couldn't do it because I'm lost on how I'll start.

Another thing that I would like to share with you are the school supplies I bought from Lazada. I bought it last 7.7 sale from a really low price and it was more than worth it. It made me happy and felt ecstatic at the same time.
