Salon experience
Today was my appointment with my dentist. I had my braces adjusted. I had a meeting at 9-10 a.m. and went to my dentist at 2 p.m. after that. The location of the dental clinic is inside the mall which is why there are lots of other places to visit aside from the dentist. After my brace adjustment, I thought of having a haircut for a new look.
I was planning to have a haircut since December because I just felt like I needed to have my hair fixed somehow. It was dry, frizzy and it's not appealing to look at anymore. I've never had any hair treatment before and I don't use conditioner often as well. Since the pandemic I don't shampoo my hair often and don't comb or brush it as well. Whenever I needed to go to formal events or anywhere, I iron my hair to make it look less frizzy but it comes back to it's original state right after a few hours.
The owner of the salon talked to my me about having a Brazilian hair care treatment. I don't really have the money for it since the only budget I have left is the payment for my braces and nothing else. Then the owner offered it for 1,500 with free haircut. The original prize is 1,700 . My mom also then decided to have her hair cut.
My brother suddenly called my phone when my hair was being cut. They saw me sitting on a chair with the hair stylist cutting my hair. After that, I gave the phone to my mom because my hair has to be shampooed. After being shampooed, it was blowdried for at least 5 minutes. After it was blowdried, the hair treatment was applied to my hair. There was a machine at the top of my head for the treatment which I don't know what it's called.
After about 20 minutes, the machine stopped but the hair stylist said that it has to be at least 30 minutes in treatment. After that, my hair was blowdried again. Two hair stylists were working on my hair for faster hair dressing. The blower was too hot and my hair started emitting smoke. I told them to stop for a moment because my eyes are misty. My eyelids are shut because the smell of the hair treatment is too much for my eyes. My eyes then started tearing and I felt suffocated.
There were fans all around me and I was told to keep my eyes shut and keep still. I did not do anything aside from thinking about stopping them for good and not continuing the process but no can do. My mother also has to double her face mask and distance herself for awhile. It might cause more damage than repair to my already damaged hair. After minutes of blow drying my hair, it was ironed for another set of minutes.
After we paid and signed the paper for contact tracing, my mother and I walked to where the jeepney's are parked. We waited for a few minutes before we were finally moving. The original plan is to eat out after the visit to the dentist but since I decided to have a haircut which turned out to be a Brazilian hair treatment, we have no money left. Also, I'll have my salary by Monday.
When we got home, my mother cooked our food for the night and we ate in silence. My mouth was aching and I don't know if I can eat any solid food by tomorrow. I guess I'll just have to eat porridge in the meantime.
I'm blessed to have my mom who supports me in everything I do. She actually told me that I'll definitely look better when I go on an outing with my other workmates. I'm blessed to have these bonding moments with her and just enjoy the beauty of having a parent who is always there for me literally.
How about you?
