Blood is thicker than water.
No matter what happens a relative or a family member is who will always matter more than a friend.
What makes up a family?
Is it the same blood that runs through your veins?
Is it your family registry?
Is it your ancestors?
Is it your parents and siblings?
Not because you're blood related you're already a family. Sometimes you're too kind to strangers than your own blood. It's easy to resent your family because they're closer to your heart.
No matter how hard you try to go and act as if you have lived on your own without your family, that fact that you are alive will always be because of them. They might have treated you the worst way possible but a family will always be a family.
Even if you go and change your name, identity, citizenship and everything about you, you can never cut down your ties with your real family. It will always be there with you.
What makes up a family is the love in each other's heart. You might not be related by blood but the love that you have for each other will always be there.
There are people who are complete strangers but treats each other as family.
Adopting kids whom aren't yours but becomes yours because of your loving heart.
Taking someone in even if you don't know anything about him, but because your heart compelled you to love him with no questions asked, you cannot resist it.
Treating strangers as someone important even if you haven't been together for an minute is priceless.
Random acts of kindness to anyone who needs it because you somehow wants to feel and experience the same thing.
Expressing appreciation to those whom you've never known not until you meet in the eye.
What makes up a family is the desire to stay no matter how difficult a situation gets. Rejoicing together and taking in the pain together is what matters.
Your family is there to constantly remind you that you are and you will never be alone. They are always there for you no matter how messed up you become.
Celebrating important occasions together.
Always checking up each other.
Helping each one without asking anything in return.
Mourning together when a loved one is lost.
Sharing each other's burden no matter how heavy it can get.
What makes up a family is the acceptance of each other's flaws. Nobody is perfect. Beauty and self confidence starts at home. When you feel loved and appreciated for being you at home, you will no longer need to seek for other people's approval of you.
Building each other up when everyone else tries to bring you down.
Using each other's flaws as a sign of strength.
Never allowing your self worth to waver no matter how much the world tries to bring you down.
What makes up a family is the forgiveness for each one's acceptance to shortcomings. Each one of us commits mistake but only a few are forgiving enough to never bring up what has happened.
Forgive and get healed from the pain of getting hurt by someone you love whether it's intentional or not.
Never allow past mistakes to keep getting counted in the future.
Past is past. Learn how to truly forgive.
Friends, strangers, church mates, lover, adopted children, teachers to their students, boss to their employees, and even pets to their fur parents can become a family.
It's not about what you can give it take away. It's about you being whole as your family is a part of you which you can never change.
Anyone can become your family. It's not the blood that proves it. It's the heart.
